The National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), Powai has announced the admission notification for national and international students for its various Post Graduate Diploma programs for the 2017-2019 batch. Seats are also available for sponsored candidates.

NITIE PG Diploma in Industrial Engineering

The focus of the Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Engineering (PGDIE) program is to enable aspiring managers of the industrial field to develop multiple skills across varied areas. The curriculum of the program thus covers:
  • Operations Management

  • Supply Chain Management

  • IT and Systems

  • Marketing Management

  • Finance and Human Resources Management

Other than teaching sessions in the classroom, the academic schedule includes interaction with industry people, working hands-on on interesting industry project, understanding real-life scenarios in the corporate world through an analysis of case studies, making presentations and enjoying co-curricular activities.



NITIE PG Diploma in Project Management

The Post Graduate Diploma in Project Management (PGDPM) program is ideal for graduate engineers looking for understanding the right approach to deal with projects on varied levels. You will find this program beneficial if aspiring for a career in business and technological fields, whether IT, finance, manufacturing or any other related field of project management.

Through the PGDPM course you will be equipped with the skills to develop, implement and manage major investments and projects in both the private as well as the government sector. It is not necessary that only those who have some work experience in project management should apply for this program. Even if you are a novice in the field you will find this program beneficial. You will be learning all aspects of managing a project, right from conceptualisation to understanding the financial aspects & risks involved, right to its final successful execution.

NITIE PG Diploma in Manufacturing Management

The Post Graduate Diploma in Manufacturing Management (PGDMM) will equip you with the skills required for entering a management career in the manufacturing sector. The in-depth curriculum gives you a comprehensive approach to understand the processes that go into manufacturing as well as acquire the skills necessary to efficiently and effectively plan and implement the business objectives of a firm vis-à-vis competitors. The program curriculum includes:
  • How to address issues like facility analysis for product variety, compatibility analysis between new product design and manufacturing set-up, facilities relocation, vertical integration, waste reduction.

  • Understanding various aspects of manufacturing systems and processes.

  • How to manage the delivery system with specialized inputs in areas like rapid prototyping, computer integrated manufacturing, IT value, etc.

Eligibility requirements

For all the programs, namely PGDIE, PGDMM and PGDPM, the main eligibility criteria is the same.
  1. You must be a graduate in Engineering / Technology with an aggregate of 60% (relaxable by 5% in case of SC/ST/PwD students) in the graduation exam.

  2. You must have a valid GATE score as on 15th June, 2017.

Stream-wise graduation level eligibility is:
  1. For PGDIE programme: You must be a graduate in any branch in Engineering/ Technology.

  2. For PGDMM programme: You must be a graduate in any of these engineering disciplines: Mechanical, Production, Automobile, Chemical, Textile, Electrical, Electronics and other relevant branches such as Industrial engineering, Instrumentation and Industrial electronics.

  3. For PGDPM programme: You must be a graduate in any of these engineering disciplines: Mechanical, Production, Automobile, Chemical, Civil, Textile, Electrical, Electronics and other relevant branches such as Industrial engineering, Instrumentation and Industrial electronics.

Additional notes
  1. If you are in the final year of graduation, then also you can apply, provided you also fulfil the following eligibility criteria:
    • You fulfil the above requisite criteria at the time of application.

    • You complete your graduation exam, viva voce etc, by the time you join NITIE.

    • You should be able to submit the final year mark-sheet and provisional certificate latest by September 2017.

  2. You must appear for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) conducted by the IITs in order to apply for the NITIE programs.

  3. As per Govt. of India rules, reservation of seats exists for SC/ST/OBC-NC (Non-Creamy) and PwD candidates.

Admission process

Those applying for the reserved seats must produce the requisite original certificates in support of OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/SC/ST/PwD at the time of the Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) process.

You must be able to produce the original valid GATE score card and call letter at the time of the group discussion and personal interview process which will be held at NITIE Mumbai.

How to apply

On getting the results of GATE result, enter it in the NITIE online application form and submit the form. Generate the complete application form and take two print outs. These will need to be produced at the time of GD and PI process).

  1. Online application begins on: 13th February 2017

  2. Online application closes on: 3rd April 2017, 5p.m.

  3. Group discussion and personal interview dates: 24th, 25th and 26th April 2017 (these are tentative dates & may be changed later)

  4. Course begins: June 2017
