2017 Admission process at IIAD


2017 admissions are open at IIAD for B.A (hons) degree in fashion design, communication design, interior architecture and design. To pursue a degree from IIAD, candidates should satisfy the eligibility criteria and should follow the admission process and guidelines of IIAD as mentioned below.

Eligibility criteria



  • Candidates who have passed their class 10 and 12 examinations in CBSE/ISC/ IB or any equivalent board in any discipline are eligible to apply

  • Candidates who have appeared for +2 examinations or any equivalent examinations recently and waiting for the exam results are also eligible to apply

  • Lateral entry candidates who have already completed their design degree or diploma programme from a recognized international or national design institute can also apply


IIAD Scholarship programme


IIAD offers scholarship to the meritorious candidates.

Candidates who have secured 70% aggregate marks in class 10 and 12 examinations in CBSE/ISC/ IB or any equivalent board in any discipline can apply for IIAD scholarship.

Candidates who are eligible for IIAD scholarship programme can download and fill the Scholarship Application form. While filling the scholarship form, candidates should mention their application form number at the top right corner of the scholarship form.

The filled in scholarship form should be sent to the admission department of IIAD along with the completed application form.

Note: Final result of IIAD scholarship will be based on the performance of a candidate in IIAD design aptitude test and interview.

How to apply for B.A (hons) degree in IIAD


Candidates can apply for B.A (hons) degree in IIAD via online or offline mode of registration.

Online


Candidates who wish to apply for IIAD via online mode have to fill the online application form .

Lateral candidates can download the lateral entry form from the official website of IIAD.

Application form fee of Rs.1800/- can be made through credit card/debit card/ net banking facilities while applying online.

Candidates who do not prefer to pay the amount online can pay the amount of Rs.1800/- at the admission department of IIAD campus during the application submission in the form of cash or through the demand draft drawn in favour of "Teamwork Education Foundation" payable at "New Delhi".

Note: Candidates are requested to mention their name, application form number and contact number at the back side of the DD.

Offline


Offline application form fee is Rs.1800/- Candidates can receive the application form and brochure from the admission department of IIAD campus.

Note: Lateral entry candidates should fill the lateral entry application form

Application fee of Rs.1800/- can be paid as cash or DD drawn in favour of "Teamwork Education Foundation" payable at "New Delhi". Candidates should mention their name, application form number and contact number at the back side of the DD.

Note: If the application fee is already paid, then the amount of Rs.1800/- need not be paid again at the time of submission of the application forms.

The duly filled application forms/ lateral entry forms along with the below mentioned attachments can be submitted via email to apply@iiad.edu.in or can be submitted via post/courier to the following address of the admission department of IIAD.

IIAD evaluation process


IIAD admits applicants based on their performance in the IIAD Design Aptitude Test (iDAT), personal and portfolio interview.

Applicants who have applied for the interior architecture and design course will be exempted from iDAT based on their NATA score. If the applicant has secured the required score in NATA then IIAD will call such candidates to directly attend personal and portfolio interview.

Admissions for lateral candidates will be based on the personal and portfolio interview.

iDAT examination


Based on the eligibility, IIAD will call the applicants to attend the IIAD Design Aptitude Test (iDAT). The applicants will receive an admittance card from IIAD after the submission of the application forms. iDAT exam date will be mentioned in the admittance card.

The duration of iDAT is 2 hours and 30 minutes. The test will contain 2 sections: Section A- logical reasoning; Section B- creative thinking and problem solving.

Candidates should carry pen/pencils, ruler, glue stick, scissors, dry colors (pencils/pastes), etc. while attending iDAT. Only test papers and answer sheets will be provided by IIAD at the exam center.

The admission committee of IIAD will review and evaluate the drawing skills, design skills, creativity, aptitude level, visual and communication strength of the candidates based on their performance in iDAT.

iDAT examination centers


iDAT will take place at the following locations on the date mentioned by IIAD on the admittance card.

Examination locations : Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Bhopal, Lucknow, New Delhi

Personal and portfolio interview


Followed by the iDAT written test, eligible applicants will be called for personal interview and portfolio interview.

In the personal interview, the applicant will be evaluated based on his/her communication skills, confidence and knowledge on basic arts and design concepts.

Candidates who qualify for portfolio interview must carry his/her creative portfolio. Portfolio interview occupies 50% of marks in the total evaluation of interview process. The portfolio of a candidate can contain sketches/drawings, needle-work, paintings, art collages, three-dimensional projects, digital design, graphic design, web design, sculpture, photography.

Note: Portfolio need not be professional. It should reflect a candidate's creativity and interest in art and design.
