Simple Puffed rice chivda

This chivda can be made in 5 to 10 minutes and the easiet to make. You can make it and store it for about 15 days and you can snack on it when ever you feel hungry. Since this is a dry snack it is not necessary that you must consume it on the same day.

Ingredients required

  1. Puffed rice

  2. Ground nut - 1 small cup

  3. Fried grams - 1/2 cup

  4. Mustard seeds -1 tsp

  5. Tumeric powder -1 tsp

  6. Salt to taste

Method of preparation

Keep the puffed rice ready in a large vessel so that it can be easy to mix. In a pan, add oil. Once the oil heats up, add the mustard seeds. When the mustard seeds start to splutter, add fried grams and peanuts. Fry for about 5 minutes. When you see the peanuts changed the color, add tumeric powder. Off the flame. Now pour this oil mixture in the vessel having puffed rice. Sprinkle some salt according to taste. Mix well with a big splatula.

This recipe is now ready to be tasted. You can make a slight variation by adding garlic cloves. If you want to add the garlic cloves, then once the mustard seeds start to splutter add 4-5 garlic cloves and fry for 3-4 minutes before adding fried grams and peanuts. There will be a variation of taste when garlic is added. I have not used it since I do not like garlic.
