The medicinal values are well mentioned by the author. In this regard I wish to bring my childhood memories here. My father used to fetch Omam water. In Tamil we call Ajwain as omam. We, the children, were forced to drink the omam water after the meals so that our stomach does not get upset.

Ajwain has many medicinal properties and is a very good remedy easily available in one's house. Generally oily food upsets our digestion and many times people complain of belching and acidity.
I will like to add one tip on using ajwain. Many people add ajwain in the flour before kneading and then prepare parotha or puri with it. This helps in avoiding acidity after food.
