Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) is a public, professional university located in Delhi. It is well-known for its high academic standard. The university was founded on 28th March, 1998 by the Government of NCT of Delhi as a State University. The University has been graded 'A' by NAAC. Eligibility conditions

The detailed eligibility conditions are indicated below:

Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.):

  1. Lateral Entry to B.Tech. Programmes for Diploma holders: Three years diploma (completed) in any of the following branches of Engg./ Technology with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate* from any recognized Diploma awarding institute/ university/board recognize by AICTE:- Computer Engg; Automobile Engg; Chemical Engg, Ciil Engg, Construction Engg, Electrical Engg, Electronics & Communication Engg, Electronics, Instrumentation & Control, Mechanical Engg, Maintenenace Engg, Plastic Engg, Printing Technology, Production Engg, Public Health & Environmental Engg, Tool & Die Making. Applicant must appear in the CET conducted. The admission would be based on the merit/ rank in the CET. (Candidates with Diploma in Architecture are not eligible for lateral entry to Engineering/ Technology degree programme).
  2. Lateral Entry to B.Tech Programmes for B.Sc. Graduates: B.Sc. Graduates with 60% marks in aggregate* with pass in Mathematics as a subject from any recognized University. Applicants must appear in the CET conducted. The admissions would be based on the merit/ rank in CET.
  3. B.Tech.(Bio-Technology): Pass in 12th Class of 10+2 pattern of CBSE or equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 55% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology/Biotechnology, provided the candidate has passed in each subject separately. Candidate must additionally have passed English as a subject of study (core/elective/functional) in the qualifying examination. Applicants must appear in the CET conducted. The admission would be based on the merit/ rank in the CET.
  4. B.Tech: Pass in 12th Class of 10+2 pattern of CBSE or equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 55% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics provided the candidate has passed in each subject separately. Candidate must additionally have passed English as a subject of study (core/elective/functional) in the qualifying examination. All applicants must appear in the CET conducted. The admission would be based on the merit/ rank in the CET.
Special Note:
  • Aggregate shall take into account all papers that the candidate is offered.
  • Blind (including colour blind), deaf and /or dumb candidates shall not be eligible for admission in these courses.

Master of Technology (M.Tech)

  8. M.Tech. (Robotics and Automation) (Regular): Minimum 60% or equivalent in any one of the following qualifying examination:

    • B.Tech/ B.E in instrumentation and Control Engineering/ Electrical Engineering/ Electronics and Communication Engineering/ Electrical Engineering/ Electrical and Electronics Engineering or equivalent.

Admission criteria

Admission in B.Tech/ M.Tech programme will be based on the performance of the applicants in the CET.

Reservation in admission

Reservation of seats will be in accordance with the extant policy of the Government of NCT of Delhi.

Other important details

  1. Application Form Fee: All the candidates shall submit application forms only through online mode for all Common Entrance Tests 2017. The applications form is available at the University website. The application form along with the Common Entrance Test Fee of Rs. 1000/- excluding processing charges and taxes, as applicable, shall be available from 15th February, 2017, onwards The Application fee, the processing charges and taxes shall not be refundable under any circumstances. The Admit Cards can be downloaded by using candidates log-in ID and password, online.
  2. The application forms shall be available in the online mode only from the University Website.
  3. The last date of application may be extended for any programme or programme group for which a common entrance test is to be conduced by the University.
  4. It is the responsibility of the candidates to ascertain whether he/she possess the requisite eligibility and qualifications for admission. Appearing for the written examination does not necessarily mean acceptance of eligibility.
  5. The applicants are advised that since the form filling as well as admit cards shall be made available through the online mode only, they must keep the details of their login id and the password secure and safe.
  6. Applicants should be careful in choosing the CETs that they apply for, as no change would be permissible after the application has been submitted.
  7. The language of the CET shall be English unless otherwise specified.
  8. No separate intimation will be sent to the candidates regarding declaration of results and commencement of counselling/ admission. Result will be declared on University Website. Detailed schedule of first counselling / admissions will be notified prior to commencement of respective counseling, on the University Website. Tentative dates of commencement of first and second counseling shall be notified on or before 28th February, of the admission year. The schedule may be deferred if the sanctioned intake for the respective programme is not received by the University in time.
  9. The tentative schedule of counseling together with all appendices shall be notified on the University website. on or before 28.02.2017 while the detailed schedule shall be notified after declaration of merit/ result of the CET.
  10. The merit of the CET will be valid only for the programme for which the candidate has appeard and cannot be utilized for admission to any other programme. Further, the merit of the CET-2017 shall be valid only for the academic session 2017-18.

Last date for submission of application and CET date

  1. B. Tech: Last date of submission of application-4th April, 2017; Date of CET- 23rd April, 2017.
  2. M. Tech: Last date of submission of application-18th April, 2017; Date of CET- 13th May, 2017.
