Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) is a public, professional University located in Delhi. The University is well-known for its high academic standard. The University was founded on 28th March, 1998 by the Government of NCT of Delhi as a State University. It has been graded 'A' by NAAC. There are more than 84 affiliated colleges under this University. The present Vice Chancellor is Professor A.K. Tyagi.

Eligibility conditions

The detailed eligibility conditions are indicated below:-
  1. Bachelor of Computer Applications: Pass in 12th Class of 10+2 of CBSE or equivalent with a 50% marks in aggregate with pass in English, or, Three year Diploma in a branch of Engineering.
  2. Bachelor of Science, Nursing: Pass in 12th Class of 10+2 of CBSE with Science or equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks.
  3. LLB : Pass in 12th Class of 10+2 of CBSE or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and must also have passed English.
  4. BED : Candidates with at least 50% marks either in Bachelors degree and/or in the Masters Degree in Science, Social Science, and Humanities, Bachelors in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto.
  5. BPT: Pass in 12th Class of 10+2 of CBSE or equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Physics, chemistry and Biology with English.
  6. BPO: Pass in 12th Class of 10+2 of CBSE or equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Physics, chemistry and Biology with English.
  7. B.Sc. (MLT): Pass in 12th Class of 10+2 of CBSE or equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Physics, chemistry and Biology with English.
  8. BASLP: Pass in 12th Class of 10+2 of CBSE or equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Physics, chemistry and Biology with English.
  9. BBA & Allied Programmes: Pass in 12th Class of 10+2 of CBSE or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and must also have passed English.
  10. Bachelors of Arts (Journalism & Mass Communication): Pass in 12th Class of 10+2 of CBSE or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and must also have passed English.
  11. Bachelors of Hotel Management & Catering Technology: Pass in 12th Class of 10+2 of CBSE or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and must also have passed English.
  12. Bachelor of Commerce, Honours: 50% in aggregrate in 10+2 examination/ senior school certificate examination of C.B.S.E as minimum marks for admission to B.Com with pass in five subjects or Intermediate Examination of an Indian University/Board or an Examination recognized as equivalent.
  13. B.Sc. (Medical Technology-Radio Technology): Pass in 12th class of 10+2 of CBSE or equivalent with minimum aggregate of 55% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology provided the candidate has passed in each subject separately.
  14. Bachelor of Vocation in Applied Arts and Interior Design Specialization: Pass in 12th Class of 10+2 pattern of CBSE with English.
  15. Bachelor of Vocation in Automobile, Construction Technology, Power Distribution Management, Printing & Publishing, Software Development Specialization: Pass in 12th Class of 10+2 pattern of CBSE with English.
  16. Bachelor of Vocation in Mobile Communication and Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Specialization: Pass in 12th Class of 10+2 pattern of CBSE with English with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subject. Provided that candidate has passed in each subject separately.
  17. Bachelor of Education (Special Education): Candidates with at least fifty percent marks either in the Bachelors Degree and/or in the Masters degree in Sciences/ Social Sciences/ Humanities, Bachelor's in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission to the programme. The University shall follow Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) guidelines for the B.Ed. Spl. Education programmes for admissions and implementation.

Admission criteria

Admission in under-Graduate programme will be based on the performance of the applicants in the CET.

Reservation in admission

Reservation in admission will be in accordance with the extant policy of the Government of NCT of Delhi.

Other important details

  1. Application Form Fee: All the candidates shall submit application forms only through online mode for all Common Entrance Tests 2017. The applications form is available at the University website. The application form along with the Common Entrance Test Fee of Rs. 1000/- excluding processing charges and taxes, as applicable, shall be available from 15th February, 2017, onwards. The Application fee, the processing charges and taxes shall not be refundable under any circumstances. The Admit Cards can be downloaded by using candidates log-in ID and password, online.
  2. The application forms shall be available in the online mode only from the University Website.
  3. The last date of application may be extended for any programme or programme group for which a Common Entrance Test is to be conducted by the University.
  4. It is the responsibility of the candidates to ascertain whether he/she possess the requisite eligibility and qualifications for admission. Appearing for the written examination does not necessarily mean acceptance of eligibility.
  5. The applicants are advised that since the form filling as well as admit cards shall be made available through the online mode only; they must keep the details of their login id and the password secure and safe.
  6. Applicants should be careful in choosing the CETs that they apply for, as no change would be permissible after the application has been submitted.
  7. The language of the CET shall be English unless otherwise specified.
  8. No separate intimation will be sent to the candidates regarding declaration of results and commencement of counseling/admission. Result will be declared on University Website. Detailed schedule of first counseling/admissions will be notified prior to commencement of respective counseling, on the University Website. Tentative dates of commencement of first and second counseling shall be notified on or before 28th February, of the admission year. The schedule may be deferred if the sanctioned intake for the respective programme is not received by the University in time.
  9. The merit of the CET will be valid only for the programme for which the candidate has appeared and cannot be utilized for admission to any other programme. Further, the merit of the CET-2017 shall be valid only for the academic session 2017-18.

  4. BVOC: last date of submission of application – 18th April, 2017; Date of CET – 13th May, 2017
  5. BCA: last date of submission of application – 18th April, 2017; Date of CET – 14th May, 2017
