Introduction :
The explosive growth in computer systems and their interconnections via networks increased the dependence of both organizations and individuals on the information stored and communicated using these systems. The operation of modern communication networks is a very complex process that involves the interaction of many systems. The communications range from locally clustered computers to world wide network. A driving force behind much data communications today is the focus on the internet and the WWW.
This course builds from the fundamentals of data communications technology, topologies, protocols using wired and wireless, to management and security issues. The course aims at imparting practical oriented knowledge to the participants in data communications and networking area with sufficient theory and the laboratory simulations, such that they will be equipped with better methods to teach the students. As prerequisites, the course assumes a general knowledge in computer systems and programming.
