Introduction :

This advanced technology programmme offers the most comprehensive and lucid knowledge of network protocols with a balanced blend of both theory and practice. Furthermore, the programme explores the recent advances and current research trends of this fascinating area.


Course Plan:

The course is divided into four parts.

The first part covers the network programming comprising different protocols with hands-on practical sessions.

The second part deals with the techniques and protocols pertaining to network security. Some of these protocols are Kerberos, PKI, SSL/TLS, PEM, MIME, PGP, Firewalls, DoS, DDoS.

The third part covers recent advances in applied Cryptography. This provides a strong theoretical foundation to design and analyze security protocols. Topics covered are Number Theory, Abstract Algebra, Public key Cryptography, Elliptic curves, Secret sharing schemes, Interactive Protocols, Zero knowledge Proofs, Commitment Schemes.

The fourth part explores advances in the research in different areas of Computer networks. Some of the areas are –

Mobile AdHoc Networks (MANet)
Secure Group Communication
Sensor Networks
Mobile and Converged Next Generation Networks
Secure Distributed Data Storage
Theoretical Aspects of Network Security
Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) for distributed systems.
