Overview Podar Group of schools has set up more than a hundred Podar Jumbo Kids preschool centers over the last decade with their business model based on the acceptable standards set by USA's National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) for children's educational and developmental services. With its already well established network of schools, the Podar Group has extensive experience in the education field for over 80 years.
The group is offering a franchise term of 20 years to those interested in signing up as a franchisee partner. The age group for the centre ranges from one and half years up to five years.
What you need You need to have space for the centre of in the range of 1000 - 1500 square feet and an investment of R. 6lakh to Rs. 6.5 lakh rupees. The brand fee will cost Rs. 2.5 Lakh rupees. From the third year onward, there is a brand upgradation fee of Rs.50,000 annually. There will be other revenue earning programs, these being free but with royalty.
You will be charging a fee of minimum Rs.1,200 per month, with 2 hours minimum for playschool and nursery and 3 hours minimum for Junior and Senior KG. The person who plays the role of Centre Head will need to ensure quality learning is imparted by the teachers, there being at least one teacher per class and two assistant teachers wherever required. Naturally, you are expected to hire qualified teachers and staff (one main teacher for a batch of 20 kids).
It is expected that you will get a return on your investment in less than two years but you must also put about 20% of annual profits back into the business in order to retain its to continue to maintain the high standards required of the centre and ensure it continues to be popular, attracting more parents to get their wards admission to the centre.
What you will get You will be provided with detailed manuals on setting up and operating the Podar Jumbo Kids preschool, including what curriculum to follow and suggestions for activities for the various age groups. A supervisor will mentor you at every step and be available for support and queries on a daily basis. The franchisee cell of the Podar Group will also have regular communications with you via email. Easy to understand reporting formats will enable you to keep track of expenses and accounts, promotional and marketing aspects, events organized, etc.
On signing the franchisee agreement, you will attend a two day orientation program where you will be given requisite material, including videos, on the operational aspects of the centre. You then need to appoint a qualified centre head and teaching faculty & other staff as well as purchase the requisite games and toys as mentioned in your investment kit.
Next, finalize the fee structure and set up a franchisee bank account, also publicizing your centre through good marketing strategies in the area. You will get support from the franchisee cell for promotion of the centre and for the recruitment processes of staff.
Once everything is in place to the satisfaction of the franchisee team, you will receive a 'Business Commencement Certificate' and, on launch of the centre, you will get the requisite admission kit.
