MAH-MCA CET-2017 online registration for application to MCA course admissions


Are you planning to pursue a Master of Computer Application course (MCA) in Maharashtra? To get admission to Maharashtra colleges offering the MCA course, you must appear for the MAH-MCA-CET 2017 entrance exam. This article provides information of the eligibility requirements, fees and application procedure.

State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra State, Mumbai invites applications for the Common Entrance Test for admissions to first year / second year (separate division and lateral entry) of the full-time Master of Computer Application (MCA) program in the State's Government institutes, Government-aided institutes, University managed institutes, University managed departments and unaided private professional educational institutes for the academic session 2017-2018.

Eligibility requirements for MCA program admission

For Maharashtra State candidates, All India candidates, Jammu and Kashmir Migrant candidates:
  1. You must be an Indian National.

  2. You should have passed minimum three year duration Bachelor's Degree in any discipline awarded by a University which is recognised by UGC or Association of Indian Universities. At the qualifying degree exam, you should have got at least 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent (45% in case of candidates of backward class categories and Persons with Disability of Maharashtra State)

  3. You should have studied Mathematics as one of the subjects at (10+2) level or at Graduate level exam

  4. If you are seeking direct second year admission, then you should have passed Bachelor Degree in Computer Applications or Science (Information Technology or Computer Science)

  5. You should have appeared for and obtained a score in CET.

For NRI / OCI / PIO, children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries, Foreign Nationals:
  1. You should have passed minimum three year duration Bachelor's Degree in any discipline which has been awarded by a University which is recognised by UGC or Association of Indian Universities. At the degree qualifying exam you should have scored minimum 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent

  2. You should have studied Mathematics as one of the subjects at (10+2) level or at the Graduate level exam

  3. If you are seeking direct second year admission, then you should have passed Bachelor Degree in Computer Applications or Science (Information Technology or Computer Science)

  4. You should fulfil the requisite criteria which is declared by the appropriate authority from time to time.




Fees

If you have registered for MAH-MCA-CET 2017, then you do not have to pay any fees for registration for admission. For other candidates, the following fees are applicable:
  1. For children of Indian workers in Gulf countries (CIWGC): Rs.1000/-.

  2. NRI/OCI/PIO, Foreign national candidates: Rs. 5000/-.

MAH-MCA-CET 2017 schedule

  1. Online registration of application for admission: 17th May 2017 to 3rd June 2017

  2. Verification of documents, uploading and confirmation of application form for admission: 17th May 2017 to 3rd June 2017 (up to 5p.m.)

  3. Note:
    • This process has to be done in person at a Facilitation Centre (FC) for Maharashtra State/All India Candidates.

    • For J & K Migrant/NRI/PIO/OCI/CIWGC/FN candidates: you should send the application form and the requisite documents by hand/speed post/courier for verification & confirmation to: Sydenham Institute of Management Studies & Research & Entrepreneurship Education (SIMSREE), B-Road, Churchgate, Mumbai – 400020.

  4. Display of provisional merit list of candidates on official website: 6th June 2017, up to 5p.m.

  5. Submission of grievance, if any: 7th June 2017 to 8th June 2017, up to 5p.m.

  6. Display of the final merit list: up to 10th June 2017

How to apply

  1. First read the detailed notification at: http://fileserver.mkcl.org/MCA2017/OasisModules_Files/Files/148.pdf?did=1645

  2. Visit the DTE Maharashtra website and register via the link "New Registration". You have to provide your name, contact details and email ID. A provisional registration number and password will be generated and you will see this on your screen. You must it down for future reference / communication. You will also receive an email alert and an alert via SMS of the provisional registration number and password.

  3. Upload our photo (a recent passport size colour photo of size 4.5cm × 3.5cm) and your signature as per the specifications given in the guidelines for scanning and uploading of the photo & signature.

  4. Check that the details filled in the online application is correct in every respect as, once you click on the final submit button, no changes can be made.

  5. Go to the 'Payment' Tab and proceed for online payment. This can be done with a Credit Card/ Debit Card (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallet. On successful completion of the transaction, an e-Receipt will be generated.

  6. Click on the 'Submit' button.

Important note: You must take a printout of the e-Receipt and of the online Application Form.
