Man is known as a social animal. Human beings live in society. Not only that, they tend to form groups everywhere – in schools, colleges, universities, working places, residential colonies, etc. So it is quite natural that the subject of Sociology has been developing very rapidly. Sociology is the scientific study of human society and its origin, organization and institutions. It covers the study of human behavior, its causes and consequences along with social interaction to understand the development of society.

Sociologists study human behavior which is immensely influenced by social, religious, legal and community guidelines. Sociology is a very vast field and there are different areas where qualified sociologists work. Some experts study behaviour of children, some deal with adolescents.     A very well written article by Mr. Partha, He has given an elaborate information about the various chances available for a postgraduate in Sociology. People who are in confusion will get a clear idea and they may opt for this course.
    Earlier days this subject was not in the curriculum for graduation students. So very limited people are opting for this course. Now this subject is introduced in under graduation syllabus also. So many people may opt for this. Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh is also offering this course. The department is very old and the faculty is good.
