Age limit

Boys born not earlier than 2 July 2005 and not later than 1 Jan 2007 are eligible to apply for Rashtriya Indian Military College Dehradun July 2018 admission. That means, the boys should not be less than 11 ½ years in age and should not have attained the age of 13 years as on 1 July 2018.

Candidates who are either be studying in class Vll or have passed class Vll from any recognized school as on 1 July 2018 are eligible to apply for Rashtriya Indian Military College Dehradun July 2018 admission.

Rashtriya Indian Military College Dehradun July 2018 admission process

The admission to Rashtriya Indian Military College Dehradun for July 2018 is based on an entrance exam. There will be 3 parts like

  • Written Examination
  • Viva Voce
  • Medical Examination

Written ExaminationThere will be 3 papers for the written examination and in each paper there will be a minimum pass mark of 50%. Viva VoceThe interview will be held only for candidates who qualify the written exam. The minimum pass marks for interview is 50%. Medical examination: The candidates who qualify the interview will need to undergo medical examination at selected military hospitals and only the candidates who are medically fit will be given admission to RIMC.

Examination centers

The entrance exams will be conducted at state capitals or cities/towns. In Kerala, the exam will be conducted at The Office of the Commissioner of Government Examinations, Pareeksha Bhavan, Poojapura, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala 695012


Presently the fee is Rs 42400 per year. At the time of entry, a security deposit of Rs 20,000 should be given. But this is refunded at the time of passing out.


The scholarship amount varies from state to state and is usually between Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000 per annum. The scholarship once granted by the state will be continued based on the merit, income as well as discipline of the cadet and also his performance during the year.

Interested candidates can get the prospectus cum application form along with the old question papers booklet through speed post from the below mentioned address by forwarding a self-addressed slip and an account payee bank DD of Rs 600 for general candidates and Rs 555 for SC/ST candidates along with the caste certificate.
