Overview The Integrated Goods and Services Tax (IGST) and the GST Compensation Act has come into force from 1st July 2017. Becoming GST compliant and getting a GST registration number (GSTIN) will likely go down in history as one of the most complicated online registration processes! When even accountants and tax practitioners are having difficulties in understanding the online application for GST registration, how are simple truck owners, retail shop owners and traders expected to make their way through the complicated maze? Finally, the Government has realized this and has scheduled what it calls "GST Ki Master Class" (a master class of GST) for all to learn the nitty-gritty details. Let's hope this online class does provide some clarity rather than adding to the confusion.
