How to apply for JRF/SRF programs 2017 at Central Power Research Institute Bangalore?

Central Power Research Institute also known as CPRI located in Bangalore, Karnataka state India is functioning under the Ministry of Power, Government of India. This is one of the premier institutes of our country that promotes research in the field of Power System Technology Development. There are lots of facilities in Bangalore CPRI. Now the latest news regarding CPRI is that it has invited applications from eligible candidates for the JRF/SRF programs 2017. The attraction of this program lies in the fact that if the candidate is performing very well, then there will be an annual increment in fellowships. In addition if the candidate needs to stay/visit project sites OR attend seminars/trainings, then such expenses will be provided by CPRI. Age limit

The upper age limit for SRF/JRF is 30 as of the last date for submitting application. OBC candidates will be given a relaxation of 3 years and SC/ST candidates will be given the relaxation of 5 years.

Eligibility

Senior Research Fellow: A candidate having Post-Graduation in Engineering with a first class in the relevant area of specialization and with high level of academic record as well as an aptitude of research with valid UGC NET / GATE scores are eligible for SRF 2017 in CPRI Bangalore.
Junior Research Fellow: A candidate with graduation in first class Engineering with high level academic record and an aptitude of research with valid UGC NET / GATE scores are eligible for JRF 2017 in CPRI Bangalore.

Duration

It will be of 3 year duration.

Project evaluation

The Director General CPRI will appoint an evaluation committee to evaluate the progress of the project carried out by the SRF/JRF.

Selection

The candidates for admission to M.Sc (Engg) /Ph.D will be shortlisted by CPRI on merit. This will be based on the average percentage marks obtained by a candidate in the qualifying examination and personal interview.

  • M.Sc(Engg): Rs 250
  • Ph.D: Rs 500
  • SC/ST/Pwd: No fees

The application fees can be taken by Demand Draft in favor of "Senior Accounts Officer,CPRI" payable at Bangalore.
