An excellent and very useful article for the students appearing in NET. As the author already explained, UGC-NET is conducted for lectureship and junior research fellowship. UGC-NET is conducted in languages and in social sciences. For science and technology based subjects, CSIR-NET is being held. UGC-NET is conducted twice in a year; in May-June and in November-December. The author has provided details in respect of UGC-NET scheduled to be held on last Saturday of November, 2017.

I would also like to add that the first paper of UGC-NET is a general paper. The second paper and third paper are based on the subject chosen by the candidate. If a candidate gets the qualifying marks in the first paper, his/her second paper is evaluated. If he/she qualifies the second paper, the third paper will be evaluated. The final merit list will be drawn by aggregating the marks obtained by the candidates who qualify all the three papers.

When I appeared in UGC-NET (I appeared twice in two different subjects), the applications were required to be sent by post. Later the system of submitting online application started. I personally know that many students from semi-urban and rural areas face extreme difficulty in submitting online application for NET. This article will definitely help students who are not very proficient in computer operations. I strongly recommend the present article to the NET-aspirants. They must go through this article before attempting to fill up the online application form for NET.

Everything has been beautifully explained in the article. I would just like readers to be cautious that please don’t be over confident by the level of paper 1. This paper is comparatively easier than the other two.
One important point is that go through the basics of the subject and study the concerned subject properly and in depth as per the syllabus. Paper 3 has the moderate to difficult questions from the concerned subject that you are applying for.
Whenever you are preparing get well with you subject.
