HP in India today signed a Memorandum of Understanding with State University of New York at Buffalo (SUNY) and Amrita University, Coimbatore, India for a dual degree program for selected employees of HP in India. The two-year program will provide the selected employees at HP a new avenue to continue their education while working at any of HP's campuses in India.
"The program will help employees reach another milestone in their career. Employees will now be able implement management and business skills in everyday IT projects. Today there is also an increasing demand for leadership within the industry. Programs like this will help nurture and develop talent for the future,"said P V Venkatachalam, Head - Application Services, India Center.
"HP has always been at forefront of developing talent. The collective vision of Amrita University" SUNY with rigorous on-campus training will go a long way in accomplishing this. It also gives us great pleasure to be associated with a company synonymous to innovation," said, Venkat Rangan, Vice Chancellor, Amrita University.
The course will focus on imparting skills in management, Information systems and business functions. At the end of this program, the participants will receive a MS in the Management of IT Enabled Services from SUNY and a MS in Management of Information Systems from Amrita University.
"I am sure that a joint effort like this with prestigious institutes like SUNY and Amrita University will give an edge to our employees and help them advance in their career" said Zarir Batliwala, Director, HR, HP India.
