What is Encumbrance Certificate (EC)


Some says it as an EC in short form, some says as Khata and some says in a different word/s in their respective regional languages. [Kindly state the property detail, like Address, measurement including East, West, South and North with identification of the neighbors].

(Note: Nothing to worry in case if you don't know the complete property detail as the officer will help to get it done upon address of the property is given. It will be a best option in case if you give the East / West detail and neighbor owner info of the premises area to avoid few questions from the authority).

I have filled the EC application form, a letter and required fees as per your office instruction and guideline. Kindly assist me to process the above detailed EC and furnish me two original copies of the same (you can even apply for just one copy as well).

Tips: It is better to write application form in a simple manner at home and keep other blank white paper to modify at the Registered office. It is also the best idea to get at least one copy of EC by paying nominal fee and take copies of the original later.
