Eastern Railway has planned to run 82 numbers of special trains during the forthcoming Durga Puja and Kali Puja to minimize extra rush of passengers in September – October 2017. Special trains will be operated among various important stations of Eastern Railway as per the following timings, dates of run, stoppages and composition.

Howrah – Raxual – Asansol Weekly Puja Special Trains

14 numbers of special trains will be run between Howrah and Raxual and between Raxual and Asansol as per following schedule:
  1. Train No. 03043 from Howrah to Raxual:
    • Departure days and dates: Every Friday starting from 15th September to 27th October, 2017 (total 7 trips)
    • Time of departure: 15:00 hrs
    • Time of arrival at Raxual: 10:00 hrs on next day
  2. Train No. 03044 from Raxual to Asansol:
    • Departure days and dates: Every Saturday starting from 16th September to 28th October 2017 (total 7 trips)
    • Time of departure: 12:00 hrs
    • Time of arrival at Asansol: 23:45 hrs on same day
Major halts: Asansol, Jhajha, Barauni, Samastipur and Darbhanga

Small stoppages: Bardhaman, Durgapur, Chittaranjan, Madhupur, Jasidih, Kiul and Sitamari stations.

Composition: Total 23 coaches which include 1 AC 2-tier class, 2 AC 3-tier class, 13 Sleeper class, 5 General 2nd class and 2 GSLR/D class

18 numbers of special trains will be run between Lucknow and Kolkata as per following schedule:

    • Time of departure: 23:55 hrs
    • Time of arrival at Kolkata: 21:45 hrs on next day

Ticket booking procedure

Reservations for Puja special trains (for UP direction) can be done from 18th August 2017 on special charges both from all PRS centres and internet through official IRCTC e-Ticketing website after creating an account. However there will be no reservation for GS coaches available in five trains out of total six trains listed above and charges for those coaches will be at normal rate of Mail or Express trains.
