Great post by the author. If we look at the airline industry, their excellent safety record is based on checks, checks, checks. Until the checklist is not complete the aircraft cannot take off.
We pack for a journey, select our clothes, snacks etc but take our vehicle for granted. Once we go thorough the checklist, then we would be safer although trouble can crop up anytime
Many years ago, I remember while on a trip our car stopped and after finding out that it had run out of fuel, father and the driver had to walk a few kilometers to get a plastic can of diesel from the village we had just passed.
Now days the highway support and fuel availability and indicators are much better. I', sure most of us are aware of better apps and google maps that can give us routes and locations of important services. These can be downloaded into our mobiles and can be used even in areas without wi-fi access.
