  • Lavender oil-

Apply it on wounded area at least 3-5 times in a day and see healing of wound taking place very naturally. It can be applied directly in an undiluted form or else can also be diluted a little if preferred. Since it has healing properties and has been used since generations in the treatment of wounds and burns, it has become huge in cosmetic industry. It has analgesic and antibiotic properties. Thereby it not only cuts down pain, but also keeps infections and other signs of inflammation at bay. It has antiseptic action which prevents risk of any sepsis and boosts immunity. Lavender oil can sometime causes skin irritation and therefore diluting it in some base is recommended. Take 30 ml of base and add approximately 12 drops of lavender oil to it.   • Tea tree oil-
    Applying tea tree oil is one best way to prevent an infection of wounded area and accelerate the regenerative process. It has antiviral, antibacterial and anti-fungal properties. It is a great antiseptic for skin. It can attack and eliminate all sorts of infections from the skin and thus has been used since ancient times. Earlier in ancient era, people would crush leaves of tea tree and place them on the wound and later covered it by mud pack which helped crushed tea tree leaves to hold in position. Today this oil has been made available very easily. Just apply it on skin wounds or burns and it starts showing its effects right after first application. It provides a soothing effect on the skin by relieving the pain. It tends to heal wounds in a very short period of time when compared with all those antibiotics which are manufactured to do the same. Just apply it twice a day on wounded skin and it will effectively and efficiently reduce signs of inflammation and promote quick healing. It can be applied directly without diluting. It is rich in terpenes which promotes mild analgesic action on skin.

  • Geranium oil-
    Oil of geranium is an astringent and has healing properties. It is antibacterial as well as antimicrobial and this is the reason it is widely used to prevent infections in the area of wound formation as it can fight against bacteria, other microorganisms and all sorts of infections. It promotes regeneration of new skin cells at the site of wound, improves blood circulation and also reduces signs of inflammation and skin irritation. It stops excessive amount of blood oozing out of wounds.

  • Peppermint oil-
    This oil on its own can be used to bust bacteria at the site of injury. When it is mixed with cinnamon, both of them make an efficient team. As per studies, the duo can together successfully fight against four different types of bacterial infections including antibiotic-resistant strain. It can heal even those infected wounds which are taking a long time to recover.

  • Easter lily oil-
    Easter lily plant is rich in aromatic anti-microbial oils and has excellent healing properties. Pick a few lily petals and nicely rinse them. Chop them finely and cover them with enough alcohol by rubbing over them. Set this thing aside for 2-3 weeks. This mixture should be later finely crushed and the juice so obtained should be strained in a bottle. In this way one can easily make oil of Easter lily. This oil can be effectively applied over skin wounds and cuts. This plant belongs to the same family as that of onion and garlic.

  • Almond oil-
    It has been used since generations and now a days, its demand in cosmetic industry too is increasing because it is quite natural and non greasy. It gets absorbed in the skin very easily and smoothly. It is a rich source of zinc which promotes healing of skin wounds. Almond oil has anti-inflammatory properties and this is the reason it prevents signs of inflammation at the site of injury. Since it is also rich source of monounsaturated fats, it helps in regeneration process by building healthy and new skin cells at the wounded site. It is therefore very popularly used to treat skin wounds like cuts, abrasions, scratches, scrapes and even burns. It is also effective in skin problems like mild eczema and psoriasis. Almond oil is extracted usually from sweet almonds.

It is a good article giving the uses of various oils which will be useful for treating the wounds. Really a good information has been shared in the article. I also know that many people are using different oils for skin protection.
