The National Institute of Bank Management (NIBM), Pune invites applications from eligible students for the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Banking & Financial Services) course for the academic session 2018-2020.

Established by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the National Institute of Bank Management (NIBM), Pune is an educational institution offering banking and finance courses. The Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Banking & Financial Services) is a residential program which, on successful completion, gives students an opportunity to get a placement in reputed banking & financial organizations.

About the PGDM course

The course is of six semesters. The curriculum in the first semester focuses on fundamental concepts of finance, economics, operations, quantitative analysis, etc. In subsequent semesters, you will learn the core concepts of banking systems & products, management of assets, credit appraisal, risk management, international banking and forex management, etc. You will also be equipped with computing skills requisite to become an efficient manager. Specialised subjects include infrastructure finance, rural and microfinance, wealth management, financial engineering and structured finance. After completing three terms in the first year, you will work on a summer project in an organization for 8 to 10 weeks.

Other than attending formal classroom lectures, you will be working on case studies and projects and having fun with simulation of business operations through games. You will also attend personality development workshops.

Elective Courses in Term V are (you can select any two): Taxation; Advanced Econometric Method; Managerial Communication.

Elective Courses in Term VI are (you can select any three): Financial Engineering and Structured Finance; Business Valuation; Mergers and Acquisitions; Bank Supervision; Audit and Control; Commodity Markets and WRF; Indian Economy in the Context of Globalization; Multi-Variate Analysis; Financial Econometrics; Technical Analysis ; Financial Planning and Wealth Management.



Fees

The total course fee in the previous academic year was Rs 10lakhs. The fees for the 2018-20 batch is likely to be increased. Fees include academic fee, reading material/books, hostel accommodation and amenities, library fee and computer/internet facilities.

Eligibility requirements

You must hold a Bachelor's Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA, from a recognized university.

You can also apply if you are appearing for the final year of bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification exam or have completed the degree requirement and are awaiting results. In this case, though, you must produce a certificate from the Principal/Head of the Department/Registrar/ Director of the University/Institution which certifies that you are currently in the final year or are awaiting final results and have obtained at least 50% marks or equivalent. If selected, you will be allowed to join the program on a provisional basis only if you submit a certificate latest by 30th June, 2018 from the Principal/Registrar of the college/institute (issued on or before 30th June, 2018) stating that you have completed all the requirements (the results may, however, be awaited) for obtaining the bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification on the date of issue of the certificate. Your admission will be confirmed only when you submit the mark sheet & a certificate of having passed the bachelor's degree/equivalent with at least 50% marks. The deadline for submission of the mark sheet and the certificate is 31st October, 2018.

NIBM will use scores of CAT 2017/ATMA (February 2018/CMAAT (2018) for shortlisting candidates for the Written Ability Test (WAT) and PI candidates.

How to apply

Candidates seeking admission to the PGDM (B&FS) of NIBM should appear for CAT 2017 / ATMA (February 2018)/ CMAT (2018).

Submit your application online at the NIBM application page. The cost of the application is Rs. 1500/- which you can pay online through Credit Cards or Debit Cards or Net Banking. You should keep your Passport size photograph and Documents ready before filling the form. The acceptable file formats are: jpg jpeg and image size should be 2MB.

Candidates short-listed on the basis of CAT 2017/ ATMA (February 2018)/ CMAT (2018) scores will be called for Writing Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI) in April 2018 in select centers at Pune, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Lucknow (the centres other than Pune are tentative). Short listed applicants may have to appear for an additional written test if required at a later stage.
