About Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) University VIT University is a deemed university which offers UG and PG degree programmes in Engineering, Law, Architecture, Arts, and Science. The University is operating at four campuses- Vellore and Chennai in Tamil Nadu, Amaravati in Andhra Pradesh and Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh. The educational institution is accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) and it also offers unlimited opportunities for the students to get placed in dream companies. VIT supports Fully Flexible Credit System (FFCS) and International Transfer Programme (ITP).
VIT is the first university in India which has received QS 4 star rating. As per the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) of MHRD, VIT is ranked as the 13th best engineering institution in India for the year 2016 and 2017.
B.Tech admissions in VIT University B.Tech admission process in VIT University is purely based on the performance of the students in an Online Entrance Examination conducted by the University. Based on the eligibility and the score of the candidate in the entrance examination, the university shortlists and calls the candidates for the counselling process. Candidates can select their campus and programmes of their choice at the time of counselling based on their ranking and the availability of seats for a particular programme.
Candidates who have not appeared for the entrance examination are not eligible for admissions in VIT University. Capitation fee and management quota are not available at VIT. The University never encourages agents or middlemen for the admissions in any of the programmes offered at all the 4 campuses.
About VITEEE-2018 VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE-2018) is a common entrance examination conducted by VIT University for admissions into B.Tech programmes for the academic year 2018. VITEEE-2018 is a Computer Based Test (CBT) .The duration of the exam is 2 hours and 30 minutes. The questions in the examination will be of MCQ type (Multiple Choice Questions) covering the subjects such as English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology.

How to apply Candidates who wish to appear for VITEEE 2018 can apply through either Online or Offline mode.
Steps for filling the online application form
Step 1: User registration
Candidates who wish to apply for B.Tech admissions should first register their details in the online application portal by clicking the new applicant button.
Fill the details carefully in the registration form. Provide valid email id and mobile number because all the correspondence from the university including center booking and the issue of e-admit card details will be through email only.
After successful registration, the candidate will receive a password to the registered mobile number and email id.
Note: Request for change of mobile number / e-mail Id / address will not be entertained.
Step 2: Login To fill the online application form, the candidates should login using the registered email id and the password received from VIT.
Step 3: Fill the online application form After successful login, candidates should fill the application form with the relevant details and should submit the application form.

An application number will be generated after the submission of the online application form.
Step 4: Mode of payment The cost of online application form is Rs.1150/- (inclusive of GST). General candidates can pay the amount via Net banking/Credit card/Debit card. NRI candidates and other candidates who have selected abroad test centers can pay using a credit card for 50 USD.
Step 5: Upload photo and signature While filling the online application form, the scanned copies of recently taken passport size colour photograph ( size: 10kb – 200 kb and dimensions : 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm) and the copy of the signature of the candidate ( size: 10kb – 200 kb and dimensions - 3.5 cm x 1.5 cm ) in JPG / JPEG format should be uploaded at the necessary places.
Selfie photos should not be uploaded.
Candidates who prefer to apply via offline mode can obtain the offline (OMR) application form at the cost of Rs.1200/- (inclusive of GST) through either one of the following modes.
Applicants must provide a valid e-mail id and mobile number while filling the application form because all the correspondence from the university including centre booking and the issue of e-admit card details will be through email only.
While filling the offline application form, a recently taken passport size color photograph should be fixed as per the instructions mentioned in the form. Selfie photos should not be fixed on the form.

VITEEE-2018 Examination pattern The question paper will contain 125 questions. All the questions will be of MCQ type and will be from the VITEEE syllabus of VIT University (syllabus is available at the official website of the university). No negative marks for wrong answers. The question paper will be divided into 4 parts based on the question paper selection of the candidate ( PCME- Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English /PCBE- Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English)
Part-I: Physics (40 questions)
Part-II: Chemistry (40 questions)
Part-III: Mathematics (40 questions)/ Biology (40 questions)
Part-IV: English (5 questions)
Note: Candidates are requested to give utmost attention while selecting VITEEE question paper because those who select PCBE will be eligible only for admission in Bio stream engineering programmes and those who select PCME will be eligible for admission in all B.Tech programmes.
