About Indian Statistical Institute
In the year of 1920, the Statistical Laboratory was set up by Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis, the great Indian scientist and applied statistician, in the Presidency College and the Indian Statistical Institute was established on 17th December of 1931 as a learned society in the said laboratory which was registered as a non-profit distributing learned society in the year of 1932 and later it was registered under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act.
Presently, the institute has four campuses built on several acres of land in Kolkata, Delhi, Bangalore, and Tezpur whereas seven outlying offices in Chennai, Coimbatore, Giridih, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, and Vadodara with more than 250 faculty members as well as more than 1000 supporting staffs.

3-years Bachelor of Statistics (Hons) [B.Stat (Hons)] at Kolkata
Total seats: 50 nos
Eligibility criteria: Candidates should have completed 10+2 standard Higher Secondary education or its equivalent course with the subjects of Mathematics and English.3-years Bachelor of Mathematics (Hons) [B.Math (Hons)] at Bengaluru

Note: If candidates are INMO AWARDEES as per the performance in the Indian National Mathematics Olympiad (INMO) organized by the National Board of Higher Mathematics, Dept. of Atomic Energy, Govt. of India, will be waived for written test and will be called for interview directly. However, they have to apply online as per the standard norms.

National candidates
Applications have to be registered through online mode only at https://www.isical.ac.in/~admission/. Applicants should read the pages having following links carefully before registration of their applications. Candidates should prepare the following before stating the application procedures:
Once all the instructions are clearly read after visiting the above mentioned admission portal, applicants should creat a login account. Then fill up the application form and upload the photograph as well as signature. After registration of applications, page of State Bank of India (SBI) Collect website for fee payment will be opened though application fee can only be paid after two working days from the registration of application. Applicants will be informed through e-mail once admit card is generated and printout of admit card should be kept with them during admission test.International candidates

General candidates should pay Rs. 1000/- only whereas candidates belong to SC / ST / OBC (NCL) / PWD categories have to deposit Rs. 500/- only as application fees through online mode at the State Bank of India Collect website through either net banking or debit/credit card. However, it may also be deposited at SBI branch in form of Bank Challan for cash payment. Bank changes should also be paid by the candidates extra.Important dates
