The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) tourism is offering a 5 night / 6 days package tour called the Himalayan Golden Triangle tour package that covers the picturesque destinations of Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Gangtok. The starting price of this package tour is Rs.19,960/-.

Tariff for twin sharing is Rs.26,265/- per person while it is Rs.19,960/- per person for triple sharing. And for children the tariff is Rs.7.345/- per child. In case of increase in costs i.e. any expense beyond the control of IRCTC, the guests are liable to pay the additional amount before commencement of journey.



It is complimentary (no charges apply) for children below 5 years. For children between 5 to 11 years 40% discount is given on the package cost. Above 12 years, full adult fare is charged.

Tour starts every Sunday from New Jalpaiguri Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport (IXB).

Tour Itinerary

Itinerary includes 2 nights in Darjeeling, 1 night in Kalimpong and 2 nights in Gangtok.

Day 1:
  • Guests will be greeted on arrival at NJP Railway Station / IXB Airport

  • Transfer to Darjeeling which is one of the most beautiful Hill Resorts in the world.

  • Check-in hotel on arrival at Darjeeling.

  • Leisure for the rest of the day.

  • Overnight stay at Darjeeling.

Day 2:
  • Local sightseeing in Darjeeling.

  • Drive to Tiger hill in the early morning at 4 a.m to watch the spectacular sunrise over Mt Khangchendzonga which is the world's 3rd highest mountain peak at an altitude of 28,208 ft.

  • Visit to Ghoom Monastery, Batasia Loop while returning.

  • Breakfast and then visit to Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, P.N.Zoological Park (the zoo park is closed on Thursdays), Tenzing Rock, Tibetan Refugee self-help Centre (this centre is closed on Sundays), Tea Garden (only outer view) and Japanese temple.

  • An evening walk, walking tour of the suggested mall.

  • Overnight stay at Darjeeling.

Day 3:
  • After breakfast at Darjeeling, transfer to Kalimpong which is a 2 hours journey.

  • Check-in hotel at Kalimpong on arrival.

  • After lunch half day sightseeing tour in Kalimpong.

  • Visit to Mangal Dham, Deolo Hill, Dr.Graham;s home, Durbin Dhara Hills and flowers nurseries.

  • Back to hotel and overnight stay at Kalimpong.

Day 4:
  • Breakfast at Kalimpong and then proceed for the picturesque drive to Gangtok - the capital of Sikkim.

  • Check-in hotel on arrival.

  • After lunch, city tour. Visit to Rumtek Monastery, Institute of Tibetology (the institute is closed on Sundays), Do-Drul Chorten and Flower Exhibition Centre.

  • Back to hotel and overnight stay.

Day 5:
  • A half day trip to Tsomgo Lake which is situated at a height of 12,400 ft, Baba Harbhajan Singh Memorial at a height of 13200 ft and is 52 km from Gangtok city.

  • Overnight stay at Gangtok.

Day 06:
  • Pack up in the morning and personal activities.

  • Check out from hotel in time and departure transfer to NJP railway station / IXB airport for return journey.




The package includes:
  • Welcome drinks on arrival.

  • Accommodation on twin sharing basis in a deluxe hotel.

  • Meal Plan that includes breakfast and dinner).

  • Exclusive Non a/c vehicle for transfers and sightseeing. The vehicle will not be at disposal it will be available to guest as per itinerary only on point to point basis.

  • All permit fees & hotel taxes (as per itinerary).

The following are not included in the package:
  • Air Fare / Train fare.

  • Personal expenses such as laundry, telephone calls, tips etc.

  • Mineral / soft / hot drinks, rafting, joy rides like toy train etc.

  • Additional sightseeing or extra usage of vehicle, other than mentioned in the itinerary.

  • Guide charges and entrance fees at various sightseeing places.

  • Any cost arising due to natural calamities like, landslides, road blockage, political disturbances, etc (to be borne by the client, which is directly payable on the spot).

  • Any increase in taxes or fuel price, leading to increase in cost on surface transportation & land arrangements, which may come into effect prior to departure.

  • Anything that is not included in the inclusion.
