Course Particulars :
The college offers a three year Bachelor's Degree in Business Management (BBM)
Duration :
The duration of the course extends over a period of six semesters or academic years.
Affiliation :
Shree Devi College BBM is affiliated to Mangalore University, Mangalore
Eligibility for Admission :
Any candidate who has passed the Pre-University Examination conducted by Pre-University Education Board in the State of Karnataka, or any other 10 + 2 examination considered as an equivalent by Mangalore University, in Science, Commerce or Arts disciplines is eligible for admission to this programme.
Mode of Selection :
On scrutiny of applications received, eligible candidates will be selected. The candidates will have to get themselves admitted by paying the prescribed fees. All admissions are subject to the eligibility criteria of Mangalore University. Eligibility Certificates have to be obtained from the Mangalore University.
Carry Over Provision : A candidate who fails in a lower examination may go to the higher semester.However
a)No candidate shall be permitted to take the fifth semester examination unless he/she passes all the papers of the first semester examination and
b)No candidate shall be permitted to take the sixth semester examination unless he/she passes all the papers of the first and second semester examinations.
Foundation Courses : (i)Constitution of India and (ii) Human Rights, Gender and Environmental Studies shall be as compulsory subjects, alternately, in the first and second semesters.
Co and Extra Curricular Activities : A student shall opt for any one of the following activities in the first four semesters offered in the college. A) N.S.S. / N.C.C / Rovers and Rangers B) Sports and Games C)Other Co-Curricular and Extra Curricular Activities as prescribed by the university. Evaluation of Co-Curricular and Extra Curricular Activities is as per the procedure evolved by the university from time to time.
Requirement to appear for Examination : Examination will be held both in theory and practical. A candidate shall be considered to have satisfied the requirement of attendance for a semester if (i) he/she attends not less than 75% of the number of classes actually held up to the end of the semester in each of the subjects. There shall be no minimum attendance requirement for the Co-Curricular and Extra Curricular activities. (ii) He/she earns a progress certificate from the head of the institution of having satisfactory completed the course of study prescribed in the subject as required by the regulations and (iii) His/her conduct has been satisfactory. A candidate who does not satisfy the requirement of attendance even in one subject shall not be permitted to take the whole University examination of that semester and he/she shall seek re-admission to that Semester in the subsequent year.
Examinations: There will be two examinations in a year as follows : i)1, 3rd and 5th semester examinations to be conducted in the month of October/November. ii)2nd, 4th and 6th semester examinations to be conducted in the month of April/May.
Procedure for Completion of the course: No candidate shall be declared to have passed the examination unless he/she obtains less than i)35% marks in the written examination and 35% marks in the aggregate of written and internal assessment put together. ii)35% marks in practical examination. iii)35% marks in each of the project work & VIVA.
The Result: First Class with Distinction : 70% and above First Class : 60% and above but less than 70% High Second Class : 55% and above but less than 55% Pass Class : 35% and above but less than 50% Each semester result shall also be declared in terms of grades. An eight point grading system which is based on theactual absolute marks scored and alpha sign grade as described below shall be adopted.
