About GPAT 2019

Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test GPAT is a national level entrance examination conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency) for admissions to the M.Pharm programmes. Every year till 2018 GPAT was conducted by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) as per MHRD, Government of India. But from 2019, GPAT is going to be conducted by NTA. NTA is a autonomous, self sustaining and premier testing agency which conducts entrance examinations for admissions to higher education. GPAT score will be accepted by all AICTE approved colleges, institutes, universities, constituent colleges and affiliated colleges. Some Scholarships and financial assistance in the pharmacy field are also given based on the candidate's GPAT score.

GPAT 2019 Exam Pattern

Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test GPAT 2019 is a computer based online test. It will be conducted on 28th January 2019. There will be total of 125 multiple choice questions in GPAT 2019 examination. The duration of the exam is 3 hours. For each correct answer 4 marks will be awarded and for each wrong answer one mark will be deducted.

GPAT 2019 Syllabus

Syllabus of Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test GPAT 2019 is same as GPAT 2018. Questions will be related to the following subjects: Physical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Pathophysiology, Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics, Clinical Pharmacy and Therapeutics, Human Anatomy and Physiology, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Management, Pharmaceutical Jurisprudence, Dispensing and Hospital Pharmacy.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who are willing to apply for Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test GPAT 2019 have to satisfy the below mentioned eligibility criteria:

  • Candidate applying for GPAT 2019 must be a citizen of India.
  • Candidates must have completed B.Pharmacy after 10+2, lateral entry candidates are also eligible to apply.
  • Candidates who are in the final year of the B.Pharmacy course can also apply.


Application process

Interested and eligible candidates can apply online for Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test GPAT 2019 exam through link: "https://www.nta.ac.in/Pharmacyexam". Registration process start from 1st November 2018. Candidates can pay the application fee in two modes: Online and Offline. In online mode, candidates can application fee through credit cars/ debit card/ net banking. In offline mode, candidates can pay application fee by cash at any of the designated State Bank of India branch. GPAT 2019 application process ends on 30th November 2019. Admit cards fro GPAT 2019 will made available for download in official website from 7th November 2019. Admit card will also be sent to the candidate's registered email address which they have given at the time of registration.

The application fee for Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test GPAT 2019 examination is as follows:
  • For General/ OBC Candidates: Rs. 1400/-
  • For Female/ ST/ SC/ PwD candidates: Rs. 700/-
