Symbiosis Institute of Mass Communication
Introduction -
Symbiosis Institute of Mass Communication (SIMC), originally as Symbiosis Institute of Journalism & Communication (SIJC), is a pioneer in the field of media education in India. Established in 1990, the institute has achieved tremendous success in providing quality education in media studies.
SIMC’s method of instructing its students in both the theoretical and practical aspects of mass communication has produced students who not only excel academically but also respond swiftly to professional challenges.
Admission to SIMC is made on the basis of a common entrance examination i.e. SNAP Test. However, candidates after qualifying in this test have sit for another test for final selection.
Eligibility Criteria
Graduates in any discipline from a recognised University with 50% aggregate are eligible. Applicants expecting their final year results may apply. Their admission will be provisional and subject to furnishing proof of graduation with 50% by beginning of the Second Semester. Failure to furnish proof shall render their admission null and void.
Examination Pattern
Candidates seeking admission to postgraduate programs in Communication Management and mass communication will have to clears two tests. The first round is the SNAP test which is a common test for Postgraduate programs in management, information technology, mass communication and geo-informatics.
First round: SNAP is the Symbiosis National Aptitude Test, a common written test conducted by Symbiosis for Postgraduate programs in management, information technology, mass communication and geo-informatics, and is held in over 20 cities across India. It is the first step in seeking admission to Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication (SIMC). The score of the SNAP Test is used to select candidates for the second round.

Second round: The second round consists of a written test, a group discussion, and a personal interview. The weightage is as follows:
Written Test / Group Discussion / First round interview in cities: 50%
Final Interviews in Pune: 50%

Result: 3rd/4th week of June
