Place: JP Churchill Hotel & Suites, Seshadri Road, Near Ananda Rao Circle, Bangalore.
BACKGROUND:-
Advances in machining technology is revolutionising the world of metal cutting. All over the world, High Speed Machining (HSM) technology is successfully deployed in Automotive, Die & Mould and Aerospace industry. The convergence of many technologies Viz ; machine tool actuation, high speed/ high frequency spindles, cutting tools and intelligent software has made High Speed Machining a practical process and allows machine tools to achieve remarkable levels of accuracy & productivity at breathtaking speeds. The application of HSM in the manufacturing process has several advantages and facilitates better design, high degree of precision, higher levels of quality, greater flexibility, reduced cost and so on. To maintain the competitive edge, it is imperative for the manufacturing industry to keep abreast of such developments and adapt them in the manufacturing process. Keeping this in view Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association (IMTMA) is organising a 2 day Symposium on 'High Speed Machining Technology', on 27-28 May 2008 in Bangalore
OBJECTIVES:- The Symposium will highlight and discuss latest trends and technological advancements in the field of HSM to maximise productivity, in a wide range of manufacturing activity. Industry experts in the field will share their experience and discuss the relevance of High Speed Machining, vis-a-vis machine design features, cutting tools, support systems, etc available to effectively use HSM technology. Participants will be able to discuss technology related issues and specific problems with expert faculty present.
FACULTY':-
The symposium will be addressed by a team of industry experts from MAKINO, JTEKT CORPN. (TOYODA), TAEGUTEC, WEISS GmbH, SKF, HAL & PQIS. Presentations will be accompanied by practical examples along with video demonstrations.
PLANT VISITS:-
With a view to provide practical exposure, plant visits to MAKINO Technical Center (Mnfrs. of High performance Machining Centres) & SHAKTI PRECISION COMPONENTS (Mnfrs. of Precision components for Automobile and Gen. Engg.) have been arranged on day 2, i.e 28 May 2008. During these plant visits participants can see the application of HSM technology in production of variety of components.
