Application can also be made online at http://www.ametuniv.ac.in/Application forms can also be obtained by post from Academy of Maritime Education and Training, 135 East Coast Road, Kanathur 603112, by sending a DD for Rs.500 favouring, AMET payable at Chennai.
Eligibility Conditions for Various Courses :
B.E. Marine Engineering
Age : 17 to 20 years as on 1st July
Educational qualifications : Pass in (10+2) or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English as separate subjects with a PCM average of not less than 60% ( OR ) and 50% in English
Candidates can join (22 years )2nd year of 4-year Marine Engineering Degree course provided he has passed 1st year training from the Alternate Training Scheme, approved by D.G Shipping .( This will not be applicable to MERI)
Candidates can join (22 years )2nd year of 4-year Marine Engineering Degree course who have passed 1st year from the engineering college in other streams like Mechanical or Electrical approved by AICTE with minimum 60% average marks. (OR)
Candidates can join(22 years ) 2nd year of 4- year Marine Engineering Degree Course who have passed 3 years Diploma course in Mechanical / Marine /Electrical /Electrical and Electronics from the colleges approved by AICTE or State Board of Technical Education with minimum 55% of aggregate marks in the last year of Diploma Course.
The candidate should have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in English language at 10th or 12th std or in the Degree/Diploma course conducted by recognized Board or any University.
Medical : Medically fit for sea service with eye sight up to +/- 2.5 with no colour blindness

B.E. Naval Architecture and Offshore Engineering
Age : 17 to 20 years as on 1st July
Educational Qualification : A pass in Plus Two (12th Standard) or its equivalent with minimum 55% aggregate in Maths, Physics and Chemistry from any Board.
Entry to the course will be at the discretion of the Director of the Academy.

B.E Electrical & Electronics Engineering - Marine 4 years
Age : 17 to 20 years as on 1st July
Educational qualifications : Pass in (10+2) or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English as separate subjects with a PCM average of not less than 60% and with 50% marks in English language at 10th or 12th std exam.

Pass in +2 with minimum of 50% marks in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics

B.E Applied Marine Information Technology and Communications 4 years
Pass in +2 with minimum of 70% marks individuals subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and 50% English in Tamilnadu State Board, Matriculation or CBSE syllabus.
The students from other states and countries are eligible according to the above conditions.

Medical: Medically fit for sea service with eye sight 6/6 in better eye,6/9 in other Eye&with no Color blindness
