"Office XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) contains significant security enhancements, in addition to stability and performance improvements" says Microsoft. But it has only some minor changes. And no wonder that softwares coming from now will ask for sp3.SP3 is just collection of periodic updates which are released every month by microsoft.
