BELGIAN GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIPS BELGIAN GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIPS
Belgian Government Scholarships are offered to Indian nationals residing in India for Post-graduates/Post-doctoral studies in the following subjects: 1. Agronomy 2. Environmental Science 3. Technical Metallurgy
Number of Scholarships: The Belgium government offers three Scholarships in total. Each scholarship is for a period of 10 months starting from September.
Qualifications: Doctoral degree in the concerned subject for Post-Doctoral studies
Graduation in the concerned subject with 60% marks or above with two years experience in the field for the Post-graduate studies. Age: No more than 35 years as on August 31
Allowances: The scholarship includes the following allowances to be paid by the Govt. of Belgium.
24,800 BF per month including transport expenses within the country and expenses involved in purchasing didactic material.
Subscription fee to be paid to a Flemish Community Institute or an institute subsidized by the Flemish Community.
25,000 BF as a contribution to costs involved in having a doctorate thesis printed or 7,500 BF for having an end paper printing
Health insurance and public liability insurance in accordance with the Belgian legislation.
A monthly allowance of 2,000 BF for the husband/wife and 2,000 BF per minor unmarried child accompanying the scholarship holder during the period of the scholarship, if the Ministry of Flemish Community, which examines the conditions to give this financial allowances, gives its preliminary agreement.
N.B.: Travelling expenses from India to Belgium and back will be borne either by the candidate or his/her employers/sponsors.
Notes: Allowances granted by Belgian Government are sufficient for one person and no financial support or other facilities are available for spouses or relatives.
In case of candidates qualifying from Universities/Institutions which do not give class or division, requirements in lieu of first class will be 60% marks, where grades are awarded the candidates are required to furnish exact percentage or marks and indicate the conversion formula. Applications of candidates who reside abroad are not entertained.
Candidates who have already been abroad for studies/training either on scholarship or on their own for a period exceeding six months are eligible to apply if they have been in India for at least three consecutive years after their return from abroad.
