New MBA in media & entertainment program has been launched by Manipal University. This will give an opportunity to get trained in film, broadcasting, news and interacting media. The first year of the programme will be conducted on the Manipal University campus in Bangalore; the programme's second year will be held on the Whistling Woods campus at Film City in Mumbai.
How to apply: You can get admission form from http://www.manipalu.com/ or http://www.whistlingwoods.net/main.asp. After filling this form send it to Manipal University, Bangalore, or Whistling Woods, Mumbai.
Admission criterion: A graduate in any stream for this year. Next year onwards, applicants must be graduates with 55% in any stream.
Candidates this year will be selected on the basis of a personal interview. Next year onwards, an entrance exam will be conducted or the CAT (Common Admission Test) results taken into consideration.
Fee structure: Rs 4.5 lakhs (Rs 4 lakhs + a refundable deposit of Rs 50,000).
Important dates:: Admission forms will be available online from June 1, 2008.
The admission form needs to be submitted by mid July. The course commences by end July or early August.
Job placements: Students will be placed with any of the organisations associated with Whistling Wood
