Being a student of MOP itself is a pride. The admission process is very tough and
competitive, so getting in is a dream come true for a lot of people.
The college boasts of a lot of unique qualities which makes it the best women's college in
the city.
Channel MOP- an initiative which connects all the classrooms and seminar halls in the
college with individual TV sets from the campus base station. First of its kind in the
country. This facilitates helps students understand better through CDS and DVDs etc based on
the subjects. The campus televisions also help the students develop presentation,
communication, anchoring and programming skills.
MOP FM 107.8 - this is a community FM launched by the college in 2005, being the first
college in the country to have been granted license by the Government of India. The students
from the Media Dept. conceptualise the programmes, and all the students of the college do
shows for MOP FM.
The college also publishes a newspaper called 'MOP Yuvashakti' every fortnight.
MOP Vaishnav helps a girl to discover herself. The journey in the college is very demanding
and rewarding. There are workshops and seminars that keep happening, and students are
encouraged to DO a lot of things. Practical learning is one of the best things about MOP.
The college also offers 'Special Skill Training' for compulsary credit. This includes cake
architecture, software testing, advertising strategy and campaign, Copy editing, fashion
culture, web designing etc.
The students also will have to undergo compulsary internship in the end of the first and
second year, thus they learn to be part of the work culture even while studying.
MOP Bazaar- a hands-on experience for grooming the student entrepreneur. Students can
display stalls for 2 days in the college, and market their products and earn money.
Sports- the college gives a lot of importance to sports. The sports students have a separate
hostel in the college, and training is given for them to excel. NCC and NSS activities are
also actively done in the college.
All in all, MOP has risen from nowhere in just 15 years, to compete with other women's colleges which have celebrated diamond jubilee! It is the best bet for a female student if she wants to pursue a graduation degree.
