Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME)
-Training in Light Aircraft (LA) & Piston Engine (PE)

Eligibility

10+2 with 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or 3 Years Diploma in relevant branch of engineering or Science graduate / Post Graduate with aggregate of 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

irst semester

Theory

1. General workshop theory
2. Computer basic
3. A/C Rules & CAR (Part-I)
4. Engineering drawing

Practical

1. fitting smithy / welding machine shop & Welding
2. Familiarisation of computer
3. Drawing Exercise



Second semester

Theory

1. Aircraft rules and regulations (part – II)
2. Theory of flight including Helicopter
3. Aircraft Construction
4. Aircraft Materials & N.D.T

Practical

1. Aircraft construction
2. Universal test machine and other NDT machines
3. Inspection Standards & Materials



Third Semester

Theory

1. Basic electricity
2. Internal combustion engine – general
3. Aircraft instrument & D.R. Compass
4. Aircraft Repair – general
5. Revision of rules & Regulations for paper – I of AME license examination

Practical

1. Basic Electricity / Electronics
2. Internal Combustion engine
3. Aircraft instrument & D.R. Compass
4. Aircraft repair

Forth semester

Theory

1. Piston engine I
2. Aircraft hydraulic & Pneumatic system
3. Aircraft electricity
4. Aircraft fuel system & Flight Controls
5. Revision of AME examination (paper –II)

Practical

1. Top overhaul of piston engine
2. Aircraft hydraulic & Pneumatic electricity
3. Aircraft electricity



Fifth semester

Theory

1. Aircraft systems
2. Piston engine – II
3. Jet engine
4. Maintenance ‘A'
5. Maintenance ‘C

Practical

1. Maintenance ‘A'
2. Maintenance ‘C
3. Jet engine



Sixth semester

This semester is entirely “On Job Training” for which each student will join with any one of DGCA approved maintenance organization.

Only after the completion of this six months practical training, the course is being declared as completed.
