Direct Admission in Manipal College of Nursing

BSc NURSING
DURATION: 4 years including internship.
ELIGIBILITY
CITIZENSHIP: Indian Nationals.
DATE OF BIRTH: Only those whose date of birth falls on or before 31.12.91 are eligible to apply.
QUALIFICATIONS: Pass in 10+2, A Level, IB, American 12th grade or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English and a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
ADMISSIONS
GENERAL CATEGORY: Admissions are done on the basis of rank in the all India Manipal University ONLINE Under Graduate Entrance Test (UGET 08).
FOREIGN/NRI CATEGORY: Admissions under this category are handled by a separate office. Candidates desirous of applying under this category should CLICK HERE for details.
Candidates can apply either under General or Foreign/NRI category. Those submitting under both the categories will not be considered for admission. Change of category at a later stage will not be entertained under any circumstances.
UGET 08
GROUP II: Applicable to BSc Nursing course.
TEST PATTERN: The test duration is of 2.30 hours and consists of 240 multiple choice questions (MCQ) of the objective type. The question paper will be in English. The approximate distribution of questions is as follows: Physics - 60 questions, Chemistry - 60 questions, Biology - 80 questions, English & General Aptitude - 40 questions.
UGET 08 SYLLABI
The test papers in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General English includes questions based on the 10+2 syllabus followed by major 10+2 Boards/Universities.

SCHEDULE
The online test will be held between 03.04.08 and 20.05.08. The candidates can select the test schedule of their choice.

MERIT LIST
Based on the marks obtained in UGET 08, Manipal University will declare the merit list of all candidates who have appeared for the entrance test. The merit list will be displayed on 25.05.08 in the website. In case of two or more candidates obtaining equal marks, the inter-se merit of such candidates will be determined on the basis of higher marks in the order of preference as under:
• Biology in UGET 08
• Physics in UGET 08
• Chemistry in UGET 08
• PCB marks in 10+2

* Candidates are required to send the FORM + DD for Rs.1000 drawn on ’Manipal University’ payable at Manipal or Udupi or Bangalore on or before 01.03.08.

POST CERTIFICATE BSc NURSING
DURATION: 2 years.
ELIGIBILITY
CITIZENSHIP: Indian Nationals.
QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates should have passed GNM after 10+2 or equivalent examination with Science, Arts or Commerce groups.
EXPERIENCE: Candidate should be a registered nurse and midwife with two years nursing experience as on 31.07.08 after obtaining the diploma, in a hospital with atleast 100 beds.
ADMISSIONS
A merit list of candidates who have applied will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in GNM and 10+2 or equivalent examination. This list will be displayed on 15.07.08 in the website.
