Every Indian festival has a legend behind it. All these legends are related to the God. We, Indians, are one of the biggest nations of not GOD Fearing But GOD Loving people. But to every festival is attached a scientific reasoning. Indian festivals not only prootes simple GODLINESS but are very much related to the better living and understanding of the environmental requisites. e.g. Deepavali: It is the festival of lights and crackers. It is celebrated on a newmoon day, after the monsoon. Why? The light in every house and the noise and smoke of crackers drive the small and big insects away from the villages, which have grown in large numbers during the monsoon. Also the snakes which are supposed to be in large numbers in our villages move farther away from the human inhabitation. The celebration comes immediately after the harvest. As we all know that even today the major source of income to our maximum population is from agriculture, it is very natural that one would like to spend for himself and his family when the farmer has had a good harvest and what could be a time better than Deepawali to buy good clothes and have good food to eat?
Deepavali is just a major visible example. Even Holi is celebrated for rain seeding and so on and so forth
So Happy Deepavali and a Happy New Year and also Happy Rediscovering India and Its SCIENCE
