Qualification, Experience and pay scale for faculty position (regular)
1 Lecturer: Pay Scale: Rs. 8000-275-13500
Essential Qualification: Ph.D. with first class at both B.Tech. and M.Tech. (PG and UG for non-engineering) levels in the appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology / Science / Management / Humanities and Social Sciences (English / Economics / Psychology etc.) Candidate without having Ph.D., but with first class at both M.Tech. and B.Tech levels and with strong aptitude for teaching and research may also be considered for contractual appointment initially for a period of three years and extendible by another two years in the regular scale of lecturer. Such appointments will be automatically regularized as and when the appointees acquire their Ph.D. within the contract period including the extended period. This will be applicable to candidates selected by properly constituted selection committee against the advertised posts).
Desirable: First class / division in school leaving examinations
Important note: Candidates with at least one year of Post-doctoral experience in either teaching or research or industry may be placed at a basic salary of 10,000/- in the scale of 8000-275-13500 which is same as the starting salary of 10,000-15,200.
2 Assistant Professor: Pay Scale: Rs. 12000-420-18400
Essential Qualification: Ph.D. with first class at both B.Tech. and M.Tech. (PG and UG for non-engineering) levels in the appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology / Science / Management / Humanities and Social Sciences (English / Economics / Psychology etc.).
Experience: Experience in Technology / Research / Industry of three years at the level of Lecturer (Senior Scale), five years at the level of Lecturer or equivalent with proven evidence of scholarly achievements in terms of publication of research papers in national and international journals, patents, externally funded consultancy project and contribution to teaching / learning processes and resources.
Qualification & & experience for candidates from industry and profession: Candidates from Industry /Profession without having Ph.D., but with First Class at both B.Tech. and M.Tech. Levels in the appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology with proven evidence of achievements which can be recognized as equivalent to Ph.D. degree and with five years experience will also be eligible.

Qualification & Experience For candidates from industry and profession: Candidates from Industry / Profession without having Ph.D., but with First Class at both B.Tech. and M.Tech. levels in the appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology with proven evidence of achievements which can be recognized as equivalent to Ph.D. degree. Candidate must have at least ten years of experience of which at least five years should be at a senior level comparable to that an Asst. Professor would also be eligible.

4 Professor of Training and Placement: Pay Scale: Rs. 16400-450-22400
Essential qualification: Ph.D. with first class at both B.Tech. and M.Tech. in Civil, Computer Science, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical or Production engineering or equivalent.

Specialization/Job Profile: The applicant should be capable of motivating industry to participate in the recruitment process. He/She would be required to train the students to face the Selection Process.
5 Professor of Industry Institute Interaction (III) :
Professor: Pay Scale: Rs.16400-450-22400
Essential qualification: Ph.D. with first class at both B.Tech. and M.Tech. in Civil, Computer Science, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical or Production engineering or equivalent.
Desirable: First class/division in school leaving examinations.
Specialization/Job Profile: A person should be capable of establishing liaison with the industry to promote institute-industry interaction. It would be his/her responsibility to induct faculty-industry personnel exchange programme. He/She would be required to bring need based project from the industry for implementation by the undergraduate and post-graduate students.

The specializations mentioned above are indicative. Outstanding candidates associated in any other areas may also be considered.
For Posts at Sl.No. 4 & 5 above i.e. for Professor of Training and Placement and Professor of Industry Institute Interaction , if suitable candidates are not available , offer may be extended for immediate lower post in the cadre.
Faculty position(Visiting and Guest)
Visiting Faculty
Visiting faculty will be appointed for full time for 4 to 12 months on contract basis, salary varying from Rs. 8000/- consolidated per month to full salary in the scale of a professor depending upon the qualification and experience. Some short-term unfurnished/ semi-furnished accommodation may be arranged in the Institute on nominal payment basis. 3AC single return railway fare may be paid to the eligible candidates for attending the Visiting faculty interview.
Guest Faculty
Guest faculty will be appointed on contract for a semester. Payment will be made on lecture basis @ Rs. 200/- to 500/- depending on the qualification and experience of the candidate. Eligibility/qualification for visiting faculty and guest faculty is the same as prescribed for regular faculty positions. Walk-in interview will be held on 28 - 30th June 2007. Interested candidates must fill up the prescribed format downloaded or issued from the Institute and submit before the interview. No application fee is required for Visiting or Guest faculty positions. All original certificates will have to be produced during interview.
