F.No.IG/SRE-Ex.IV/Re-admss/2007/ May 26, 2007 Dr.Srikant Mohapatra Registrar
All the Regional Directors IGNOU Regional Centre (including Sub-RCs) ………………………………………
Sub: Allowing additional re-admission period to BCA, MCA, MLIS and B.Sc. (Nursing) old syllabus students to complete the left out course(s) - reg. Dear Sir/Madam,
The Academic Councils at its 40th meeting held on 17.05.2007 had considered and approved the matter pertaining to allowing additional re-admission period to students of old syllabus BCA, MCA, MLIS and B.Sc(Nursing) to complete the left out course(s), subject to the following terms and conditions:
2.1. As regards BCA is concerned, this will be applicable to the students enrolled in pre-revised syllabus in Jan.1996, Jan.1997 & Jan.1998 batches only (revised syllabus was launched from July 1998 cycle, which is still in vogue).
2.2. Students who have already sought admission afresh in revised syllabus and credit transfer granted, as per scheme approved by the Academic Council, and simultaneously pursuing 1st & 3 semesters and 2nd & 4th semesters as envisaged in the scheme, can opt either to revert back to pre-revised syllabus and complete the left out course(s) in the old Enrol.No., subject to remittance of pro-rata fee once again; or
2.3. continue with their study in the revised syllabus under new Enrol.No. already allotted.
2.4. However, the Programme fee paid for admission afresh in revised syllabus and credit transfer fee will not be refunded under any circumstances.
2.5. Since BCA revised syllabus launched from July 1998 cycle is still in vogue, students enrolled from July 1998 batch onwards, but could not complete all the requirements for the award of BCA Degree, can seek admission afresh like any other candidate and thereafter apply for credit transfer. Such cases would be considered as per resolution of the Academic Council’s Standing Committee at its 14th meeting held on 29.04.2005 (Ref. Our letter No.IG/ SRE-EVA.III/2005/6094 dated 20.09.2005).
3. The rule as at para-2.2., 2.3. & 2.4. above will be applicable to the students enrolled in MCA pre-revised syllabus, except that the students registered from January 2001 onwards are not required to pay the pro-rata fee as of now. However, pro-rata fee for re-admission will be applicable after Dec.2007 TEE for the above category of students also.
4. As regards students enrolled in old syllabus MLIS and B.Sc (Nursing), they can appear in the TEE as long as the exam. under old syllabus courses are conducted, subject to remittance of pro-rata re-admission fee.
5. In case of all the category of students of old syllabus BCA, MCA, MLIS and B.Sc.(Nursing), they are required to:
(i) remit the pro-rata fee once again latest by July-Dec.2007 cycle and complete the left out course(s) by (a) Dec.2010 TEE (BCA & MCA) (b) June 2009 TEE for MLIS, and (c) Dec.2010 TEE for B.Sc (Nursing)
(ii) No counselling and/or practical will be conducted separately for these students. (iii) As usual, pro-rata re-admission fee should be sent to Registrar, SRED, along with prescribed Re-admission Form. Other terms and conditions of Re-admission would remain unchanged.
6. This may be brought to the notice of all concerned for information, necessary action and compliance.
Yours faithfully, Sd/- (Srikant Mohapatra)
