APPOINTMENT OF TEACHING ASSISTANTS
Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode invites application for post of Teaching Assistants in the areas of Economics, Finance, Accounting & Control; Information Technology& Systems; Marketing; Organisational Behaviour & HRD; Quantitative Methods & Operations Management; and Strategic Management. Interested candidates are required to attend a walk in interview at IIMK Campus, Kunnamangalam, Kozhikode on June 10, 2008 at 9 AM with proof of educational qualifications & work experience
Duties of Teaching Assistants : Teaching Assistants are required to assist faculty members in effective conduct of academic sessions at IIM Kozhikode. TAs will be required to help faculty prepare course material, assist them in preparing for lectures, power point presentations etc. They may also be required to help faculty in grading the students. TA is expected to attend class room sessions as assigned by the faculty, though they will not be engaged in any teaching assignments. TAs should be willing to handle Tutorial sessions, if necessary.
Qualifications : First Class MBA from a reputed Institute. In case of Economics Area, persons with MA/MPhil or higher qualifications can also apply. Candidates having M.Stat, M.Sc/MPhil in Statistics can apply for position in Quantitative Methods and Operations Management Area. Candidates with first class B.Tech in Information Technology/ Computer Science and Engg can apply for the position of TA in Information Technology & Systems. Students having UGC/NET qualifications will be preferred.
Experience : Research or Teaching Experience in a similar job will be given due weightage in the selection of TAs. Experinec though highly desirable is not mandatory.
Terms of Employment: Appointment of Teaching Assistants will be purely temporary on contact basis. The tenure of appointment will end latest by March 31, 2009. They will be paid an all inclusive remuneration of Rs 7000-8000 per month depending on their qualifications and experience. They will not be entitled for any other benefits enjoyed by permanent employees of IIMK, except the subsidised travel and canteen facilities available in the campus.
How to apply : Candidates interested in applying for the position of TAs are required to attend a Walk-in Interview/Test scheduled on 10 June 2008 at 9 am at IIMK Campus. No TA/DA will be paid for candidates attending the interview. Candidates are required to bring with them the following.

How to reach IIMK campus : IIMK is situated in the scenic locale near Kunnamangalam, a major suburb of Kozhikode. Kunnamangalam is around 20 km from Calicut City and frequent private and public (KSRTC) buses are available from Palayam bus stand and KSRTC stand in the City. You are advised to alight at IIMK/Jankish Theatre bus stop before Kunnamanagalm in NH212. From the bus stop, institute bus facility will be available to reach campus at 8.45 am and at 9.30 am. Candidates can also reach campus from IIMK bus stop using Autorickshaws (fare Rs 25) available at the Institute Gate.
