QUOTATION NOTICE FOR MULTIMEDIA PACKAGE DEVELOPMENT Quotations are invited from reputed software developers for “Development of Internet Based Virtual Lab for Science Practical (Chemistry) for Secondary Class (Class X)`”. Using this multimedia package the students should be able to conduct the experiments virtually and should be able to develop requisite skills as expected from such experiments. The multimedia package to be developed will be SCORM compliant and would be made available to the students on-line and off-line i.e. through Internet and on a CD. The Module of THE content alongwith list of experiments to be included in the software is attached with this note. Interested software developers are requested to kindly send their quotations for developing the abovementioned software alongwith the details of their company profile and a sample of any previous similar work done. In case you want to seek any clarification regarding the above proposal before sending in your quotation, you may kindly contact Prof. H.O. Gupta (9891824898) / Prof. Dharam Parkash (9868161129). The quotation may be sent at the earliest but not later than 21 days from the issuing of this notice i.e. 16th June 2008 to Head, DESM, NCERT, superscribing the envelope “Quotations for Virtual Lab Software Development”. List of Experiments (Class X) 1. To find the pH of the following samples by using pH paper/universal indicator (i) Dilute Hydrochloric acid (ii) Dilute NaOH solution (iii) Dilute Ethanoic acid solution (iv) Lemon Juice (v) Water (vi) Dilute Sodium bicarbonate solution 2. To study the properties of acids and bases (dilute HCl and dilute NaOH) by their reaction with (i) Litmus solution (Blue/Red) (ii) Zinc metal (iii) Solid Sodium Carbonate 3. To determine the focal length of a (i) Concave mirror (ii) Convex lens by obtaining the image of a distant object 4. To trace the path of a ray of light, passing through a rectangular glass slab, for different angles of incidence. Measure the angle of incidence, angle of refraction, angle of emergence and interpret the results 5. To study the dependence of current (I) on the potential difference (V) across a resistor and determine e its resistance. Also plot a graph between V and I 6. To determine the equivalent resistance of two resistors when connected in series 7. To determine the equivalent resistance of two resistors when connected in parallel 8. To prepare a temporary mount of a leaf peel to show stomata 9. To show experimentally that light is necessary for photosynthesis 10. To show experimentally that carbon dioxide is given out during respiration 11. To study (a) binary fission in Amoeba and (b) budding in yeast with the help of prepared slides 12. To determine the percentage of water absorbed by raisins 13. To prepare SO2 gas, observe its following properties and raw inferences in respect of (i) odour (ii) solubility in water (iii) effect on litmus paper (iv) action on acidified potassium dichromate solution 14.(a) To observe the action of Zn, Fe, Cu and Al metals on the following salt solutions (i) ZnSO4 (aq.) (ii) FeSO4 (aq.) (iii) CuSO4 (aq.) (iv) Al2(SO4) (aq.) 14.(b) Arrange Zn, Fe, Cu and Al metals in the decreasing order of reactivity based on the above result 15.
