Sub: Schedule of Admission of students to Ist Semester MA/M.Sc/M.Com/
MLISc and Ist Year BLISc courses in the affiliated colleges during
2008-2009 – dates intimated – regarding.

The following schedule of dates is prescribed for strict compliance by the
Principals of Arts & Science Colleges affiliated to this University in making
admissions to the Ist Semester MA/M.Sc/M.Com/MLISc and Ist Year BLISc
courses within the sanctioned strength in their colleges during 2008-2009.
A. SCHEDULE
1 . Date of commencement of issuance of application forms for admission
23.06.2008 (Monday)
2 . Last date for issuance of application forms and receipt of filled in applications in the Colleges. 28.07.2008 (Monday)
3 . Date of publication of Ist list consisting of sure lists and supplementary list of candidates selected on the Notice Board of the college(A copy of the above is to be sent to the undersigned on the same day itself) 30.07.2008 (Wednesday)
4 . Last date for despatch of Interview card and chance card to the selected candidates. 02.08.2008 (Saturday)
5 . Date of commencement of interview and admission of candidates
11.08.2008 (Monday)
6 . Date of publication of the second lists of candidates in case the list mentioned at (3) above is exhausted. On the third day after the last date of interview
7 . Date of despatch of interview cards to the selected candidates in the second list On the second day from the date of publication of the list
8 . Date of interview for the candidates under the second list
On the seventh day from the date of publication of the list
9 Date of admission and remittance of fee The same day on which the candidate is
interviewed and selected for admission
10 Date of commencement of classes 18.08.2008 (Monday)
11 Closing of admission to the Ist Semester MA/ M.Sc/M.Com/MLISc and Ist Year BLISc courses. 30.09.2008 (Tuesday)
B. SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
1. The admission shall be made only within the sanctioned strength.
2. The rules of admission of students, issued from the University from time to
time, should be strictly followed in making admissions.
3. A copy of the Ist list is to be sent to the Registrar, University of Calicut, by Registered Post on the same day itself of the publication of the list.
4. A copy of the IInd list is to be sent to the Registrar, University of Calicut, by Registered Post on the same day itself on the publication of the list.
5. A copy of the final list of admitted students should be sent to the Registrar, University of Calicut by Registered Post as soon as interview is over and acknowledgement obtained. The failure to present such a list may result in the candidates inability to take University Examinations.
6. Rules regarding reservation of seats for SC/ST and other eligible categories
should be followed strictly
7. Candidates qualified in the annual examinations held during April-May
2008 or earlier alone are qualified for admission.
8. Equivalency/Recognition Certificates need not be insisted from candidates
having qualifying degrees/diplomas awarded by Central Universities, IIT,
IIM and other Universities in Kerala, through regular mode of study.
9. No admission shall be made over and above the sanctioned strength in
anticipation of sanction of marginal increase or adjustment at the end of
the year.
10. Application forms for admission to Ist Semester MA/M.Sc/M.Com/MLISc
and Ist Year BLISc courses shall not be issued beyond the last date fixed for
issuance.
