Master of Computer Applications (MCA) is a six semester (3 Years) postgraduate degree course, approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and Govt. of Kerala and is affiliated to M.G. University, Kottayam.
Eligibility
The minimum qualification for admission is a degree with Mathematics, Computer Science or Statistics as one of the subjects with not less than 55% marks, excluding languages in the qualifying examination. Admission to MCA course is based on the rank obtained in the entrance examination conducted by Commissioner for Entrance Examination, Kerala. Admission to management quota is based on the performance of the candidates in aptitude test, group discussion and interview conducted by the college.
Course Outline
Attendance
* The minimum attendance requirement is 80% for appearing University examinations. * Students those who are late by 15 minutes or more will not be allowed to attend the first period and will lose half-day attendance. * If the attendance percentage is greater than 90, full marks would be awarded. * Students who put absent without prior notice have to produce a leave letter with the consent of their parents/guardian.
Examinations
* There would be two internal tests and one model examination during the course of the semester. * The internal evaluation would be as follows.

* The answer paper after evaluation would be returned to the students within two weeks of the examination.
Assignment
* Students would be given two sets of assignment for each subject. This will be evaluated as part of the continuous assessment. * The students are required to submit the assignments within the date specified. * Late submission would not be entertained. * A viva-voce will be conducted as part of the submission of assignments. The internal assessment would include the marks obtained in the viva-voce.
Seminar
* Seminar topics will be assigned to students from each subject. The marks are provided on the basis of their presentation skills, subject knowledge and notes prepared. * Seminar dates will be announced in advance. Failure to present the seminar on that particular date would invite slashing of internal marks. * 4th and 6th semester MCA students should conduct general seminars for all the MCA students.
