The Selection for admission to all the programmes except Ph.D. Full-time, Parttime (Internal and External), M.B.A. (Banking Technology), M.B.A. (International Business) M.B.A. (Tourism), M.C.A. and M.Tech. will be exclusively based on the marks scored in the entrance examination. For admission to the above mentioned Ph.D. and professional programmes, the selection will be based on the marks scored in the entrance examination (85%) and viva-voce/group discussion/interview (15%). For Ph.D. Full time and Part-time programmes, the candidates qualified for JRF/Lectureship examination of UGC/ CSIR/ NET/ GATE/ SLET or such other examination recognized by the University with the prescribed educational qualification(s) are exempted from the entrance exam.
Candidates called for interview for admission to the Ph.D. programmes (of the University Departments only) from places beyond 500 k.m. will be paid II class sleeper return train fare/ actual bus fare by the shortest route from the place of their residence on production of original tickets.
For admission to M.B.A. (Banking Technology), M.B.A. (International Business) M.B.A. (Tourism), M.C.A. and M.Tech., the short listed candidates called for group discussion and interview for final selection in the University campus at Puducherry have to appear for the same at their own expenses.
Mere appearance in the entrance examination does not entitle a candidatefor admission to any course in this University and he/she will be granted admission only if he/she fulfils the eligibility criteria fixed for the courses. Candidates are advised to take up the examination only if they satisfy the eligibility criteria.
Admission granted will be cancelled at any time, if it is found that the information furnished by the candidate is false or incorrect or if, at a later stage, it is found that the candidate does not fulfill the eligibility criteria prescribed for the course.
The University is not responsible for any postal delay or non-receipt of hall-ticket/ select card/ admission intimation, etc.
Only selected candidates will be informed of their selection. The list may also be placed on the University website.
The candidates selected for admission to M.Sc. & Ph.D. Marine Biology and Coastal Disaster Management offered in Andaman centre should give an undertaking in writing to the University that they join the course at their own risk and shall take an insurance policy to the tune of Rs.5 lakhs.
Admitted students are required to carry the University Identity Card all the time while they are inside the campus.
The students must make themselves available in the respective Departments between 25th and 29th June 2007 for counselling and registration. Classes will begin on 2nd July 2007. Students are instructed no to miss the classes since 70% of attendance is required to appear for the examination. Those who need accommodation in the hostels must report to their Departments prior to registration and counselling.
