ADMISSION TO
M.TECH. in ATMOSPHERIC-OCEANIC SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY
(Prog.Code AST)
The Centre for Atmospheric Sciences is starting a new 2-year M.Tech. Programme in “Atmospheric-Oceanic Science & Technology” from July 2008. This programme is sponsored by the Ministry of Earth Sciences and will focus on “Numerical Dynamical Models for Weather Prediction, Pollutant Dispersal, Climate and Climate Change Studies”. Candidates with a valid GATE score (minimum 300 for General/OBC and 200 for SC/ST/PD) should apply if they satisfy the following eligibility criteria:
Eligibility Criteria: 60% marks in aggregate of all years/semesters of the qualifying examination (M.Sc. or B.Tech./ B.E. or equivalent) or C.G.P.A. of 6.75 on a 10 point scale as determined by IIT Delhi with M.Sc. in Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Meteorology/ Oceanography/ Computer Science & Applications/ Geophysics/ Environmental Sciences; or B.Tech./B.E. in Civil/ Mechanical/ Chemical/ Environmental Engineering.
For candidates with M.Sc. Degree, Physics and Mathematics at the B.Sc. level is essential. Candidates having B.Tech./B.E. in other branches of engineering will be considered only if they have appropriate experience in related areas of atmospheric and oceanic sciences, meteorology, remote sensing etc.
Candidates should apply on a prescribed form downloadable from www.iitd.ac.in from 13th June 2008. Candidates can take a printout to fill the form and send the completed form to the following address along with a demand draft from any nationalized bank (Rs. 300/- for GEN/OBC & Rs. 150/- for SC/ST/PD) drawn in favour of “Registrar, IIT Delhi” payable at Delhi so as to reach on or before 27th June 2008.
