Recruitment of Junior Assistant and Lab Attendent
Applications are invited for the following positions at Department of Ocean Studies and Marine Biology of Pondicherry University at Port Blair, Andaman & Nicobar islands.

1. Junior Assistant * 1 Rs.3050-75-3950- 80-4590 On deputation, initially for a period of one year which may be extended based on individual's performance and requirements of the University.
2. Lab Attendant (Reserved for ST) 1 Rs.5,000/- On contract initially for a period of one year, which may be extended based on individual's performance and requirements of the University.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
1. JUNIOR ASSISTANT
Educational Qualification:
1. SSLC/Equivalent
2. Typewriting Lower/Junior Grade in English (30 WPM)
3. Proficiency in Computer operation.
Desirable: Typewriting in Tamil/Hindi
Age Limit: Up to 56 years.

2. LAB ATTENDANT ON CONTRACT BASIS
Educational Qualification:
A Pass Higher Secondary (+2) with science subject
Age: Maximum 30 years, for contract appointments.
Candidates should send their application only in prescribed format given below. Candidates should enclose attested copies of certificates, in support of age, Community, educational qualifications, experience etc. along with the filled in application.
The SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates are eligible for concession and relaxations as per Government of India Rule.
Candidates should furnish their telephone and fax numbers and e-mail ID for fast-track purposes.
The University reserves the right to not appoint anyone for the positions advertised.
Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidates.
The name of the position applied for shall be superscribed on the envelop without fail.
If the cover containing an application is not marked properly as per the information given above, it is likely to be misplaced. The University does not take any responsibility of such misplaced applications.
No correspondence will be entertained from candidates regarding postal delays, conduct of and result of written test/interview and reason for not being called for written test/ interview and not being selected.
Applications received after the stipulated date or incomplete in any respect or not readable easily will not be entertained and no further correspondence will be made in this regard.
Completed applications with all the necessary/required enclosures along with a Demand Draft for Rs.300/- (Rupees Three Hundred only) from Nationalized Bank (Rs.75/- in case of SC/ST/PH candidates) drawn in favour of Finance Officer, Pondicherry University and payable at Pondicherry must reach the Professor & Head, Department of Ocean Studies and Marine Biology of Pondicherry University at Port Blair, Andaman & Nicobar islands on or before 11.07.2008.
In case of deputation, candidates should send their application through proper channel along with attested copies of ACR dossiers for the last five years in sealed cover. An advance copy may be sent directly, if necessary. However, in such cases candidates called for written test/interview shall have to produce No Objection Certificate or original applications duly forwarded by competent authority of their institutions, failing which he/she shall not be allowed to appear for the written test/interview.
It is again emphasized that if an application is not prepared as per instructions given above, the application will be summarily rejected, without any communication.
The University reserves the right to correct any typographical error(s) in this notification.
