ADMISSION INTIMATION MEMO FOR ARTS & COMMERCE COURSES
All candidates attending AUCET-2008 counseling are directed to report at the Sir C.R. Reddy A.U.
Convocation Hall, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam on the date and time specified in the Admission
Schedule (page 3) with the following original certificates.
1. Rank card issued by the Directorate of Admissions, AUCET-2008
2. Hall ticket issued by the Directorate of Admissions, AUCET-2008
3. Statements of marks and Provisional Degree Certificate / Original Degree
4. Transfer and Conduct Certificate from the institution where the candidate has last studied.
5. Study Certificates from IX standard onwards issued by the Heads of the respective institutes OR
Local Candidate Certificate / Certificate for the Non-local category issued by the appropriate authority in
the prescribed format.
6. Date of birth certificate (S.S.C. or Matriculation certificate).
7. Integrated Community Certificate issued by competent authority in case of SC/ST/BC candidates.
8. Income Certificate issued not earlier than 1-1-2008 by the competent authority in case of eligible SC/ST/
BC candidates claiming concession.
9. Certificate in respect of claim under special category (CAP / NCC / PH / SPORTS) where ever
applicable.
10. Migration Certificate in case of candidates from other Universities.
11. Physical fitness certificate from the Medical Officer, Andhra University or from a Civil Assistant Surgeon.
12. Four passport size photos recently taken.
13. A set of attested xerox copies of all the above certificates.

NOTE:
1. Admission will be made according to the rank obtained in the concerned test in AUCET-2008 and based on the
rules noted in the Admission Information Brochure-2008 and the distribution of seats for different categories
in various P.G. Courses offered by A.U. and its affiliated colleges. See University Website
www.andhrauniversity.info. for full details.
2. Candidate seeking admission into a particular course should fulfill all eligibility criteria for that course as specified in the
admission information brochure of AUCET-2008. Such of those candidates who do not fulfill the eligibility criteria and do not
have all of the relevant certificates will not be permitted for counseling. Candidates passed in Instant Examination of 2008 are
also eligible for admission. Candidates passed in advanced supplementary / supplementary examinations of 2008 are not
eligible for admission.
3. Candidates have to submit Demand Draft(s) drawn in favour of “Admission account, Directorate of Admissions”
payable at Visakhapatnam from any nationalised bank for the prescribed course fee as given in the enclosure along with the
certificates. The admission application cannot be processed without the Demand Draft.
If there are two types of fee structures in a course, say, regular and self-finance seats, and if the candidate is willing to join
even the self-finance seat, he/she has to bring two DDs, one for the regular fee and the other for the difference of selffinance
and regular fee.
For example if the regular fee is Rs.3,750/- and fee for self-finance seat is Rs.7,000/-, two DDs must be submitted, one for
Rs.3,750/- and the other for Rs.3,250/- . If the candidate joins the regular course, the other DD, i.e. for Rs.3,250/- will be
returned. If the candidate joins the self finance, both the DDs will be retained by the University.
4. All certificates related to reservation categories like SC, ST, LBC etc. are subject to scrutiny by appropriate Government
agencies.
5. Candidates seeking admission under Sports, PH, NCC, CAP are directed to appear before admission committee along with all
original certificates in support of the claim for verification by the Committee. The admissions are based on the priorities fixed
by the panel of experts and subject to availability of seats in the particular course / college, according to the rules mentioned
in Admission Information Brochure AUCET-2008. Only local candidates are eligible for admission under NCC, PH, CAP and
Sports categories.
6. Sliding is allowed only in second phase from course to course of the same test and college to college on the basis of
availability of seats. A candidate can avail sliding only once. A nominal amount of Rs.300/- has to be paid towards sliding
charges.
7. NO EXTENSION OF TIME EITHER FOR PRODUCING CERTIFICATES OR FOR PAYMENT OF FEE SHALL BE GRANTED AND
NO CORRESPONDENCE WILL BE ENTERTAINED IN THIS REGARD.
General Instructions:
1. The number of candidates called for interview is generally 5 to 10 times the number of seats available. The admission process
is likely to continue for the next day. The candidates should come prepared to stay for one or two days more.
2. Admission of a candidate is purely provisional. The University reserves the right to cancel the admission at any stage.
Candidates getting admission by producing false information / certificates are liable for prosecution. Their seats will be
cancelled without any notice on the detection of fraud at any time during their course of study.
3. Admission is liable to be cancelled, if the student does not put in continuous attendance for a period of 10 days without valid
reason from the date of commencement of the classes, i.e. from 2-7-2008.
4. Sanction of course fee under post-metric scholarship to eligible SC / ST / BC-C students studying regular / self-finance
courses at postgraduate level is limited to Rs.20,000/- per year only (as per G.O.Ms. No. 56, W.W. Edn.2 Dept., Dated 6-10-
2003). The extra fee amount over and above Rs.20,000/- has to be paid by the candidates at the time of counseling.
5. In case a regular course is already being run by the University, and if a self-finance course is started in the
same subject, then the fee applicable to the regular course only will be sanctioned by the Social / Tribal Welfare
Department of the SC / ST / BC-C students even if they join in the self-finance seats.
6. SC/ST/BC-C candidates seeking admission into P.G. courses and whose parental / guardian annual income is less than
Rs.38,220/- are eligible for the sanction of course fee by the Department of Social / Tribal Welfare, Andhra Pradesh as
mentioned in 4 & 5 above. However, if the candidate does not get the sanction of the course fee amount by the Department
of Social Welfare, Andhra Pradesh, he/she has to pay the prescribed course fee mentioned in the enclosure. The candidate
has to give an undertaking at the time of admission to this effect.
7. Candidates of BC-A, BC-B and BC-D categories seeking admission into regular seats in P.G. courses and whose parental /
guardian annual income does not exceed Rs.44,500/- only are eligible for the sanction of Rs.865/- . Candidates who join the
self finance courses are not eligible for the sanction of any fee by the Department of Social Welfare, Andhra Pradesh.
8. Changes in admission schedule, if any, will be intimated by post and also by newspapers / All India Radio and Doordarshan
announcementsand through website. Do not rely on telegrams; they may be false.
9. Education Tours / Training Programmes / Field Works wherever prescribed are compulsory. Such of those courses will not be
deemed to be completed unless required programmes are attended by the students.
10. Limited Hostel accommodation is available for the students who get admission in the University Campus. Hence, University
cannot ensure hostel accommodation to all students. Candidates seeking admission into hostels are advised to bring five
copies of passport size photos and photocopies of caste and income certificate each in duplicate and the prescribed fee.
Hostel admission will be made by the Chief Warden of the respective Hostel subject to availability of accommodation as per the
University Hostel rules in force from time to time. If a candidate gets hostel admission, he / she has to pay Rs. 1,310/- in case
of eligible SC/ST/BC-C categories, Rs.1,910/- in case of eligible LBC and Rs. 2,710/- in case of other categories.
