The Seminar


This seminar sheduled for the 25-27th of September 2008 is 7th in the series eversince it was started in 1992. Organised every 3rd year, the seminar series has been attracting researchers from across the globe. It serves as platform for presentation and exchange of ideas cutting across the realms of polymer science and technology. As a meeting point for practising technocrats and academicians, this seminar is also an opportunity for fostering fruitful industry-institute interactions. Participants who wish to make oral and poster presentations are requested to submit an abstract of about 300 words in English, highlighting the salient aspects of the work. The abstract must be e-mailed as word file attachment to apt08@cusat.ac.in with "Abstrat-APT08" in the subject line.

The full paper size must be limited to five A4 pages, including figures. The font must be Times New Roman 11 pt. The word file must be e- mailed as attachment with "Full paper -APT08" in the subject line. A hard copy is to be addressed to "Convener- APT 08, Dept. of PSRT, CUSAT, Cochin 22, India.

Department

Established in 1971, the Department of Polymer Science and Rubber Technology is one of the pioneer institutions in Inida to offer full fledged four year B. Tech, two year M. Tech and Ph.D programmes in Polymer Science and Technology. An active centre for research in various aspects of polymer technology, the Depatment has currently 38 research students enrolled. 55 students have been awarded Ph.D's till now. Our alumnii adorn top echelons in leading polymer industries in the country and abroad.


Accommodation

Limited accommodation is available in the campus at a nominal rate of Rs. 200/= per day.

Good number of Hotels are available near the campus. Accommodation can be reserved on request (Advance payment is required). Please mention in the registration form the type of accommodation required.

God's Own Country- a small heavenly beautiful state at the southern peninsula of India- has so much to offer and so much to be proud of: The abode of 44 rivers running across the breadth with the majecstic western ghat lining the earstern boundary, the state is the home for a very divergent bio diversity and a rich culture.
