A conventional indian woodstove designed and developed by bangalore based Technology Informatics Design Endevour (TIDE) won the $ 790,000 Energy champion 2008 award in london on 19th june thursday .This prestigious award was given , as the woodstove was efficient and eco-friendly.Following are the features of the woodstove:

1. The fuel chambers are scientifically designed to make fuel consumption economical.

2. The stoves ae designed such that they get the right amount of air to make the fuel burn.

3. The improvised version of the woodstove cost only 250 Rs and the rates go up depending upon the size.

4. The stove uses coconut shells ,wood, biomass and agricultural waste as fuel.

This award considered as green oscar was given to Svati Bhogle of TIDE.
