Nepali Prime Minister Giriji Prasad Koirala resigned on Thursday .He announced his resignation while addressing the constituent assembly. He would remain as the interim head until an president is elected by the constituent assembly. The new president will be elected when the amendment of the interim constitution is done. The constitution is being amended so that the newly formed government led by the maoists can be formed.
