ADMISSION TEST – 2008, SAAT – 2008
1. Programmes Under SAAT – 2008 :

SAAT – 2008 will be conducted to select successful candidates for admission into:

B. Tech in different branches for engineering at ITER.
3rd semester of Engineering / technology, pharmacy, and HMCT stream for diploma holders under lateral entry scheme. 10% of intake capacity of last year in appropriate discipline and carry forward vacant seats of first year of engineering / pharmacy and HMCT will be available for lateral entry at third semester level. These seats will be over and above the intake capacity.
Bachelor degree in HMCT course at School of Hotel Management.
B.Sc course in Nursing at SNC.
BDS Course at IDS.
B. Pharm. course at SPS.
MCA course at ITER.
M.TECH (Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Tele-Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering & Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science & Data Processing, Electronics & Communication Engineering) courses at ITER.
M.Pharm. Course at SPS.
M.Sc. in Industrial Biotechnology at CBT.
M.Sc. Nursing at SNC

Note:Availability of seats in each programme is tentative and may change with intimation from appropriate authorities.
Minimum Eligibility Criteria :
For admission to 1st year of B.Tech. (4 Years Course) :
Pass or appearing 10+2 examination (2008) in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics. OR
Pass or appearing in the final year of 3 years Diploma programme in Engg. / Technology. A candidate has to appear in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in the SAAT – 2008.

Age Limit : The lower age limit is 17 years as on 31.07.2008.
For B. Pharm. (4 Years) Course :
Pass or appearing 10+2 examination (2008) with Physics and Chemistry along with one of the following subjects: Mathematics / Biotechnology / Computer Science / Biology. OR .
Diploma holders are eligible for admission to 1st year Pharmacy. A candidate hast o appear in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Mathematics (or both) paper in the SAAT - 2008 .

Age Limit: The lower age limit is 17 years as on 31.07.2008.
Hotel Management & Catering Technology (4 Years Degree Course) :
Pass or appearing in 10+2 examination (2008) (Science / Arts / Commerce).

Age Limit: The lower age limit is 17 years as on 31.07.2008.
For admission to 2nd year Degree courses in Engineering, Pharmacy & HMCT courses under Lateral Entry for Diploma holders :
Pass in 3 years diploma course in Engineering / Pharmacy / HMCT, with at least 60% marks in aggregate from State Council of Technical Education and Vocational Training (SCTE&VT), or equivalent and for Pharmacy, pass in 2 years diploma course in Pharmacy with minimum 60% of marks in aggregate from State Board of Pharmacy (SBP) or SCTE&VT for direct admission to the third semester degree courses specific to the diploma discipline of the candidate.

ii) Choice of Discipline: (for Lateral Entry Stream)

Candidates having Diploma in Engineering in the disciplines indicated under Column – I are eligible for admission into the corresponding discipline only mentioned under Column – II (Table – I).
For BDS (5 Years) Course :
Pass or appearing in 10+2 examination (2008) with Physics, Chemistry & Biology (Botany and Zoology) with at least 50% marks in aggregate (Physics, Chemistry & Biology taken together) for general category candidates and 40% marks in aggregate for SC/ST/OBC candidates.

Age Limit: The lower age limit is 17 years and the upper age limit is 25 years as on 31.12.2008.
For B.Sc. Nursing Programme (4Years Degree Course) :

Pass or appearing in 10+2 examination (2008) with Physics, Chemistry & Biology (Botany and Zoology) with at least 50% marks in aggregate (Physics, Chemistry & Biology taken together) for general category candidates and 40% marks in aggregate for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
A candidate has to appear the papers in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in SAAT – 2008.

Age Limit: The lower age limit is 17 years and the upper age limit is 25 years as on 31.12.2008.
For M.C.A. (3 Years) Course :
Pass or appearing in 2008, for the Bachelor's Degree examination of three years duration in any discipline from any University or equivalent recognized by UGC and having passed in Mathematics at 10+2 level or in +3 level. Business mathematics at +2 level is not permitted.

Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for admission into MCA course.
For M.TECH (2 Years) Course:
1 Computer Science & Engineering
2 Computer Science & Data Processing
3 Electronics & Telecommunication Engg. (Spl: Telecom System Engg.)
4 Electronics & Communication Engg. (Spl: VLSI Design & Embedded System)
5 Electrical Engg. (Spl: Power Electronics & Drives).
6 Information Technology
7 Mechanical Engineering (Spl: Thermal Engg).

Eligibility Criteria:
Pass or appearing in B.E. / B.Tech / AMIE / MCA / M.Sc. (Electronics) / M.Sc. (Comp. Sc/IT.) in the respective disciplines or equivalent. Except GATE qualified candidates, all others will have to appear in a GATE-like written test of two hours duration. Those qualified in the written test, will be eligible for appearing in the interview. In the interview, final selection for admission will be made.
N.B:MCA/M.Sc. (Comp. Sc./IT) are eligible only for M.Tech in Comp. Sc. & Engg., Comp. Sc. & Data Processing, IT, M.Sc. (Electronics) are eligible for M.Tech in Electronics & Telecommunication Engg. and Electronics & Communication Engg. M.Sc. (Maths) are also eligible for M.Tech in Comp. Sc. & Data Processing.
For M.Pharm (2 Years) Course :
Spl : Pharmaceutics, Pharmachemistry, Pharmaceutical Analysis and Quality Assurance, Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy, Pharma-Biotechnology and Hospital & Clinical Pharmacy. Pass or appearing in B.Pharm from any recognized university.

For M.Sc. in Industrial Biotechnology (2 years) Course :
Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Science / Agriculture / Pharmacy / Veterinary / Engineering / Technology / Medicine (MBBS/BDS).

Age Limit : There is no upper age limit for admission into M.Sc. in Industrial Biotechnology course.
For M.Sc. in Nursing (2 years) Course :
Spl : Medical – Surgical Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, Child Health Nursing, Maternity Health Nursing and Community Health Nursing

Pass or appearing B.Sc. Nursing (Basic) or Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Degree or Post Certificate B.Sc. Degree or any other equivalent degree as recognized by Indian Nursing Council. Minimum of two years of experience after obtaining B.Sc. Nursing (Basic), in a hospital or educational institution or in community health setting. However, for candidates with Post Basic B.Sc. degree no such experience is needed after graduation, but they should be registered in State Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife.

The selection for admission shall be based on merit list drawn from the entrance test, SAAT-2008. The duration of entrance test will be of two hours and the syllabus for the entrance test is available in our website : www.soauniversity.ac.in.

Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for admission into M.Sc. Nursing course.
NOTE: Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination may also apply. But, they have to produce the pass certificate of the qualifying examination on the day of counseling, failing which their rank / position secured in the entrance Examination will stand cancelled automatically and they will have no claim for the admission as per the rank.
